i'm pleased but not getting too carried away just yet.....i remember thinking keane, kewell and before that paul ince were guaranteed to be massive for us really hope we dont start playing him on the left.......personally i'd play him off torres (if he stays) and play steven gerrard back in central midfield. Personally i reckon gerrards better on the right or in the 'hole' but he's been banging since before the dawn of mankind that "im a central midfielder, thats my best postion" etc, so fuck it, i'd rather have happy players after that debacle of a season just gone. then glen, right wing.....no one wants to see johnson at fullback, but he's fuckin exciting when he's got the ball in the final 3rd deffo need a good left sided midfield player (to be fair jovanovic has got 'new voronin' written through him like a stick of rock) and a left back too (should have kept aurelio and bought another). shame mash and benny are gone also......an attack consisting of:- torres joe cole in the hole benny left side johnson right gerrard centre mid (with mash holding) would have been tasty (kuyt, babel, aquilani as subs)

Cole is good enough to play for Tottenham & Arsenal but I don't think he would have been the main man. We realistically couldn't play Cole, Modric and Lennon in 4 man midfield as they're too short so I doubt he would have started every game as imho Modric is better and would have kept him out. He would have played a lot though and been a good albeit v.expensive luxury.
At Liverpool even with Gerrard Mac and Torres in the team he's going to be a main player and I think that's probably what he wants. The extra 20k a week is probably also a rather big deal. I hope he works out at Liverpool because I think he's a good honest pro but if his glass kness go 10 games in I might have a sly amaretto and coke to celebrate.

the deal was for £80,000 a week, only £5,000 more than Spurs offered apparently.
Still, it's nailed on that he'll join Spurs.

Telegraph says 90 and that is a BROADSHEET. As this deal has been done purely on money I am inclined to go with the bigger wage. Although tbf I take it with a pinch of salt as I don't believe the papers present a true representation of what goes into a deal and wage. There must be a 1000 little add ons and get out clauses and such like that could inflate or deflate the eventual annual earnings espcially if you have glass legs and your on a pay as you play deal like Joey boy should be.

cole played 100 premier league games over the last 4 seasons, he'll be earning £18.7m which over 100 games would work out at £187,000 a match
edited for spastic maths.

He played 132 games in total. Are players only paid for Premier League games now?

in that case 140,000 a match. but only premier league games and champions league (which of course he wont be palying now) games actually pay the players wages.
