I quite enjoy a handful of Manics tunes, but Nicky Wire might be the most punchable man in music (after Noel, obvs).

absolute skills from the manics completely misunderstanding the reasons for cassette revival (it's basically a way to fiddle bandcamp) and putting one out on a major label.

Can you explain the tape/bandcamp thing David?

given that no one wants CDR, tapes are the easiest thing to do a short run on cheaply. If you sell a digital copy of something on Bandcamp to someone else in the EU for £5 on the page, bandcamp add VAT and take their cut, so the buyer pays £6 and you get £4.50 of it. if you sell it as merch the buyer gets a free copy of the digital album, the buyer pays £5 plus postage, doesn't get charged VAT and bandcamp don't take a cut on physical sales.
swerving getting inlays printed and doing something handmade (not a problem if you're only doing 20 or so copies) makes it even cheaper.

Interesting, I'd never considered that.
I'm still proud to announce that the only Cassette that I've purchased in the past 20odd years has been the Shit Horse tape.

I have a really hard to try and listen to their new album. I suppose Dylan&Caitlin is pretty good, but there is something lost...they feel kind of bland and unexciting. I suppose it ain't a bad album but maybe Ill give it a proper try later.

I once buried the Morning Glory cassette and a Corinthian figurine of Eric Cantona in a time capsule we did at school. This was around 1997. One day I'll dig the fucker up because I want them both back.
