WWE now making all it's roster pay for their health-insurance, on top of everything else. How can they get away with this in bloody 2011? The rasslin' industry is demented. They get away with it because of the "independent contractor" rules. That's one of the main reasons Vince and Co. are not unhappy about kayfabe being dead. Wrestling is lumped into entertainment rather than sports, so athletic commissions aren't involved (some states they still are). Wrestlers don't have a union either. Yet actors and even writers have a damn union. |

I could be very, very, very wrong but I read something that said they can now claim the cost back as they are self employed. So free health insurance where as they were paying for it themselves before.
So it's an improvement.....no?

Well, in the case of the WWE, when theres major injuries they'll pay for surgeries a lot of time, if not all of the time if it happened at work. In the case of health insurance, you can write it off for tax purposes, but its not guaranteed you're going to get it back in a tax refund. It depends on the individual. This is only for the wrestlers obv. Everyone else in the WWE has company provided insurance. I actually applied for a job there a few years ago  |

Production. They have an NYC office and I figured why not as I assumed it was a post-production position. They called to discuss the position with me, but it was for people in the truck, so it'd have all the travel and that BS working under Kevin Dunn who is a prick. The money was shit (in comparison to other positions in same field) too.
Ive read nightmares about the place, wouldnt want to deal with that.
