Aye, Cody vs Dustin is MoTY so far for me. Dustin was tiring a bit towards the end but it's to be expected at his age. He still put an absolutely smashing performance in. And that post-match embrace got me right in the feels.
I heard they had 200,000 buys for the PPV which is pretty impressive. Hopefully they can be a legit challenge to WWE someday. I'm already completely hyped for AEW, though. The next PPV is already shaping up real nice:
Dustin & Cody vs Young Bucks Omega vs Moxley Page vs Jericho

I don't know if he was tiring or just about to faint from the amount of blood he'd lost I watched it again it was that good Yeah 200,000 was basically what WWE were doing for their B-PPV's shortly before the network so that's a good starting number.

It's all going off in the wrestling world.
AEW debuted on TNT on drew 1.4 million viewers, smashing NXT who moved from the WWE Network to live on USA in an efforrt to hurt AEW.
Over in WWE, Smackdown's move to Friday ended with Cain Velasquez turning up to scrap with Brock Lesnar, who'd just defeated Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship. Rey Mysterio brought Velasquez to Smackdown after Brock kicked the cunt out of him and his son on RAW. Tyson Fury also wanted some of Braun Strowman and got chucked out.
Elsewhere, The Fiend is awesome, no selling superkicks and curb stomps. He's basically the msin baddie from a horror movie and is doing it amazingly well, off setting it with Bray Wyatt doing Firefly Funhouse.
CM Punk might wrestle for WWE again. Austin has talked publically about being in good enough shape to have another match, and perhaps most amazingly, there is talk of Edge having another match.
Great times to be a wrestling fan mates.

Completely given up on WWE, hopefully they start to raise their game now there's some competition. I'm happy to stay away & just watched the rumble & mania right now. As for AEW, was quite impressed with their first episode. The in ring talent did well, but most of all I was surprised by the presentation. The arena design was simple but worked, the camera crew were spot on & it just felt like a legit show. Jim Ross is past his prime for sure, though having him I think adds to the name recognition, Tony Schiavone I thought was dead TBH All 3 did a decent job and will probably improve as weeks go on. Also, length wise 140 with the commercials cut out seemed about enough for me. Trying to ever watch Raw is just a fucking slog. I can commit to 90 mins of it a week if it's consistent and fresh so hopefully my interest will last more than a couple of weeks. Swagger looked good, I always had a soft spot for him. If they book him right, basically as Jericho's big powerhouse bodyguard & don't let him use the mic often he'll do well. Be interesting to see if they bring in jobbers, or have lowercard people as they can't keep having shows like their first one otherwise the PPV's will seem not as special.

The Hell In A Cell ending seems to have upset quite a lot of people.

Hell In A Cell ending was fucking awful. Why book Wyatt so fucking hard if you don't plan on promoting a heal? Baffling, really. The live audience was booing before match finished because they fucking saw it coming, which is a shame.
AEW is fun. Both "Dynamite" episodes were just a breeze. Fun, made it seem like it wasn't 2 hours. I pray at the church of Jericho so I may be a mark, but he is the correct dude to put these other folks over. I'll watch this, and read WWE recaps online.

Jericho cut a great promo on that second episode. Thought Jim Ross seemed a bit more comfortable too Anyone watch the first episode of NWA POWER? Billy Corgan (yes, that Billy Corgan) bought the rights to the NWA a few years ago and until recently it just existed as a belt & a few youtube video's but now they have a show on youtube, it basically is a re-creation of the set-up from the 80s with the cheap set, the flags, the 40 people in the audience & Jim Cornette I dunno if it was just a nostalgia thing but I really enjoyed the first episode for what it was. I miss the format of 3 minute promo followed by 2 minute squash match.

I think I'm in the minority of people who actually enjoyed the Hell In A Cell match and ending. I'm not sure they are scared to pull the trigger with Wyatt, I think they just want to really get across that he's this indestructible, no-selling son of a bitch. The ending was totally like something from a horror movie, which I get isn't for everyone, but I was into it. AEW is having a very strong start. Both shows have been a lot of fun and I look forward to it each week. The fact that I can watch it free very easily, in good quality, on my TV, is a big plus for me. Sure, I could watch WWE online easily enough but I like stuff like this on my big TV. If WWE Network showed RAW & SmackDown 24 or 48 hours after they'd aired in the US then I'd pay for a Network subscription. Anyway, yeah, AEW is doing it for me right now. That opening tag match between Private Party & Young Bucks was phenomenal. Mox / Spears was decent with PAC on commentary being a highlight plus the post-match shenanigans. And for the second week in a row, absolute chaos in the main event, love it. Also, Mahoney, I also watched NWA Power and thought it was great. Loved the retro feel to it. Not sure if it's just the nostalgia and if that might wear thing, but for now, they have a fan in me. Need to check out MLW too, I hear they're doing pretty good shows. It's a good time to be a wrestling fan.

Not even heard of MLW. I think I've realised I just don't like watching actual wrestling THAT much to spend hours a week (which was what I doing for a few years watching almost everything) so if I can tune in for an hour or so a week and catch a bit and maybe watch the occasional PPV I'm good with that. Though NWA Power being on Youtube means I'll definitely be watching it every week I think it's going to be weekly anyway?

Yeah fuck it it’s fun! The old format of 2 minute promo 3 minute match is about as much wrestling as I need. I don’t want to watch a 20 minute HHH style promo or a half hour ppv match, give it to me fast

I predict not one WWE employee will (be announced as) test positive for covid-19, endangering people for the sake of Vince being able to boast that they’re still on TV when everything else sport related isn’t is exactly what I’d expect.
