just watched the first 2 and really liked 'em. it's just brydon and coogan trying to make each other corpse, isn't it? one of those shows you could watch all day. bet coogan is just as much of a cunt in real life, isn't he? despite/in spite of it being a piss about, i'm really enjoying it

Watched all 3 back to back the other night and absolutely loved it. Think its quite clever the way some of it is staged and scripted but yet it seems to be quite a realistic play on there real characters. Love it whenever Brydon does a partridge impression

Watched the first 3 episodes over the last 2 days.
Wasn't keen on it at first but its grew on me. Find it hilarious when they're discussing something/doing impressions/criticising each other then it descends into childish bickering trying to get one up.
Interested to see the rest.

4th ep was the best so far. some of it felt uncomfortably real.

Supposedly this is a film that they've re-edited and put into 6 episodes, I'd be very interested to see it in it's original form as ep5 felt like total filler compared to what went before but may work better in a different context. To me 3 was the funniest episode but I loved the change in dynamic with the two women coming into it in 4 (anyone else think Claire Nathan Barley is quite fit?), it really upped the ante then 5 sort of fell flat afterwards, perhaps the calm before the final storm. Coogan's 'Aha' into the rolling hills is my personal highlight so far

I thought they just re-edited it into a film for the american market and it was originally a 6 part series.
6 restaurants and that....
Yeah, I loved episode 4, the subtle competitiveness they acquired was expertly conceived and executed.

Yeah that would make sense, but Michael Winterbottom has directed , and I don't think he does much TV? Either way it will be better one way or the other so I'd still be interested to see the film because even the funniest scenes could do with a trim ("Gentlemen, TO BED, for we rise at... 9:30" being a good example I think - not that line obviously but towards the end of the scene). And yeah the competitiveness over the women really rang true, Coogan sort of loosing it and getting straight up cunty to Brydon 'I couldn't even quote any of your stuff' etc, and you think Brydon comes out of it with more credit, but then he shows he obviously envies Coogan's macho, womanising side after all with the scene on the sofa (which I had to momentarily flick over from I found it such an awkward watch, possibly repressed memories )

(anyone else think Claire Nathan Barley is quite fit?) good lord yes. i've been rewatching nathan barley lately and whilst i thought she was pretty cute in that, she's aged really well. definitely got a lot fitter

Thought it fizzled out a bit after episode 4, and the end sequence of Brydon's house looking as warm and fuzzy as the Walton's and Coogan's looking as bleak and lonely like Saddam Hussein's hole in the ground in the last episode went on FOREVER Some pacing problems there definitely, so I wanna have a look at the film cut as well now for sure, maybe it solves some of that stuff. On the subject of 'best thing on all year' did anyone see Grandma's House? I only caught half of it so can't say for certain but it looked a bit excellent to me
