I take back what I said about The Vaccines. I really like their debut, I feel like I should hate it but theres some quality tunes on there.

Love your fits of sincerity, I can picture you against the mirror shaking your head. Bu-bu-but... they sound like The Strokes! Oh fuck... They don't sound like much like the Strokes Barny. They just sound like a 1000 other indie guitar bands which is what makes me want to dislike them but they've some top tunes so fair play. I'll definitely deny ever saying this in a few years time when they are the new Editors though Strokes album has grown on me bit by bit with each listen, I still fail to see how any of the 'julians hair in that pic omg' brigade can't be in tears after waiting 5 years to hear it but still theres some good stuff on there. Strangely the intros to the songs are so bad, when most the tunes start I'm like then by the time the chorus kicks in I'm could well end up a 7/10 record for me or who knows, maybe will make my prestigious top 50 list at the end of the year!

i found the vaccines debut to have 3 or 4 big tunes then then 3 or 4 absolutely awful tunes also so it kinda balanced out to an average sorta album.
gonna try and see them live at latitude though as i reckon live will make or break them. either il get them properly and love the album or decide i hate them.

Most of those people (including myself honestly) were 16-17 when the band came out and I suppose being in our mid/late-20's we judge music differently now; we're not in tears because like you said, there's actually good stuff on that album. I really like it myself. 1 The Strokes 207 2 The Pains of Being Pure at Heart 38 3 Foals 37 4 Simon & Garfunkel 35 5 Super Furry Animals 28 6 John Lennon 25 7 Orange Juice 22 8 Ride 15 8 Beady Eye 15 10 No Age 13

Sorry but you and Barny have been crying so much that the tears have been smudging everyone of your posts since its leak.

It's ok Ana, we all cry sometimes. Cried > I am preparing for an early night so I can get a double bill in right now. The past few weeks I have been playing with you, letting you think you have a chance in the film challenge. I am basically the fat kid & you are throwing punches at me (with barny recording it on his phone whilst laughing in his Strokes t-shirt) & I am just waiting for the right time to drop the powerbomb. I'll let you get one or two ahead from time to time, keep the race interesting for the rest of the soapbox but deep down we all know I am the sadder cunt & come the end of the year it will be me who will have 500+ films to his name. I admire your balls, you have bigger balls than Super Johnny. What a poor challenger he was.

I keep thinking there's someone hiding in the shadows watching film in and film out, by December 31st he'll post a review of 1689 films and the forum will crash and you and I will implode with Bob-sytle rage

I simply won't believe him. I'll send Eddie 'The Regulator' Murphy round to look for the proof. We all know Johnny is on about 27 films, was probably drunk when he called it on.

I must admit I've gone off the boil. Jan & Feb were excellent for me whilst March has been back to normal watching standards. Must try harder. Although I did pass 500 albums and 100 films on rateyourmusic this month. So minor victory!
