The one that immediately jumps out at me is... ''I was born with an abundance of inherited sadness'' From Jacksonville Skyline by Whiskeytown. Top top tune That entire song is so quotable: "overcame me wishing I was still back home", "looking for a vacancy I wasn't able to find"... . i dunno if it really fits the thread, but i absolutely love how in the final chorus, its 'i ended up a soldier on the weekend" such a great allusion to the previous verses.

Oh yeh Brad, you know a few weeks ago I got you to do that top 20 whiskeytown thing for me, could u go in your outbox and re-send it. I forgot to add the tunes to my playlist then when I become a MARTYR for art and rock n roll I lost all my pm's. Whiskeytown top 20? They have three albums Listen to the first two who are both 10 outta 10 all neet and if you like them try the third Which is also great but not as good as the first two imo

I'm sorry, I was under the impression you had never heard a single Whiskeytown song and wanted Brad to give you his top 20 tracks to get into them PS When I have my music back I will turtle you an 8 disc, chronological Ryan Adams rarities, live stuff and demos/outtakes compilation. From The Patty Duke Syndrome to Ryan Adams & The Cardinals. From Whiskeytown to Ryan Adams & Alanis Morissette

IT'S EATING OH, IT'S CHEWING ME UP IT'S NOT RIGHT FOR YOUNG LUNGS TO BE COUGHING UP BLOOD Line for line that song is pretty much unsurpassable The stale chips are up and the hopes stakes are down It's all these ignorant faces that bring this town down Some others... We all say 'don't want to be alone' We wear the same clothes 'cause we feel the same Blur - End Of A CenturyWhen I came into this world they slapped me And every day since then I'm slapped again Eels - FlowerThe street's wet, you can tell by the sound of the cars Elliott Smith - ClementineI'd like to drop my trousers to the queen Every sensible child will know what this means The Smiths - Nowhere FastAll the things that people do in winter They all melt down in summer Things a mirror should say On a very hot day Cat Power - What Would The Community Think

Will turtle shortly Karl
Can never get into Faithless Street, few got tracks but generally does zilch for me.
Strangers Almanac and Pneumonia are both quality though.
I had all the really rare old stuff but lost it, stuff like Snow Cobra, The Lazy Stars and rare Whiskeytown but then again was never going to listen to it more than once
