Fuck's sake, this record is stunning. On first listen, and have legit tears of joy in my eyes FFS Bust-Out Brigade just sounds incredible. Gawd. Glorious, wonderful music.

not really feeling this tbh. i guess the magics gone for my part and just can't get into it like the first one. it's too samey and the pop hooks aren't quite good enough. it's not a bad album really, but unlike horizon, it doesn't make me giddyhappy. they've also moved less into sample orientated music which is a big minus too. part of the success of their first album was the ridiculous amount of samples and the guesswork to see where they were stolen from. oh well.

Hey! Their 1st album is good! I obviously had some catching up to do.

Though i think the second half gets a bit boring and samey, i still think this is gonna be a shoo-in for one of my records of the year. The opening barrage of incredibly catchy, huge, pop-tastic tracks nearly make me weep with joy at times. Brilliant stuff. Was listening to Ian Go Team's interview on the Music Weekly podcast and he comes across as a bit of a cockney geezer. Anyway, he was saying how after they mastered the album for loads of money in a swanky studio, he didn't think it sounded quite right, and decided to transfer it to audio tape and then put that out Hence the hissy, tinny noise that some people hate (but i like tbh) Just found that interesting loike, so there

Saw them the other night, thought the fellow soapboxers would like to know that Ian Parton has only gone and added the J Mascis signature edition Fender Jazzmaster to his rig, bloody gawjus it was too

I've only given it a few listens, but I think it's their weakest album to date. There are still a few stand out tracks though. Buy Nothing Day might just be my favourite song of theirs.

Aye, I'd rank Buy Nothing Day pretty much the same, The Running Range is another standout for me. Overall I'd say it's better than Proof Of Youth though, the highs aren't quite as high but it hangs together a lot better I think and doesn't descend into pointless rowdiness like POY does from time to time.

buy nothing day is gooooooooood
her vocal fits so well (better than ninja's tbh)...they sound like a coherent band on that rather than just a sequence of brass samples with someone screaming over the top of them
