Got skanked on Saturday, saw odds of 4/1 for Audley Harrison to get knocked out in the first round. I'm not usually a gambler but I thought those odds were definitely worth going for considering Audley is a joke and his opponent is a powerful man. Put £20 (the biggest bet i've ever made) on it, Saturday night I was thinking I was a financial genius when 50 seconds into the first round Audley is flat on the floor. Logged into my Bwin account on Sunday to withdraw my £120 winnings and seen 'BETCANCELLED' next to my bet! I checked on the account history and Bwin had cancelled my bet after the fight had taken place!!! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. Looked at the terms and conditions on there website and found this...
The company further reserves the right to cancel bets even subsequently if any such bet was won by the user as a result of a technical fault or error and the company is in a position to prove the technical fault(s)/error(s) by means of technical records. The burden of proof of technical fault or error is with the company. In any such case, the stake of the bet or game shall be re-credited to the player's account. The company reserves the right to hold a user liable for any damage caused to the company as a result of such user knowingly taking advantage of a technical or administrative error when making and/or receiving payments.
How the fuck can they justify that? It's not like they were crazy odds that were obviously a mistake, betfair had it at 3/1 and most of the other websites were 7/2 or 4/1. Slippy?

Don't betting firms generally bend over with their customer service?
Surely if you tell them you will shut your account unless they honour the bet then they will have to buckle.

After looking on the net a bit it seems like Bwin actually do this quite a lot. Seems like I've got reasonable chance of getting my money back, i'm just going to have to do a lot of complaining first though. Don't really have much sway regarding closing my account as I barely do any betting. It's so fucking cheeky, it's such double standards as its not like I can cancel a losing bet because i've suddenly realised it was a foolish bet. Absolutely fuming with them, gunna be real hard to not lose my cool with one of their customer service mongs

Let them know 4 or 5 of the top gamblers on the Soapbox are taking a very keen interest in the results of your complaint

Yeah, nothing like that has ever happened to me but this just has to be illegal. Surely?
Sounds like the price wasn't incorrect or anything. And if it were they should still pay you your winnings at the 'correct' price.
