so currently it's 11 degrees below celsius and it's sunny as hell (pun intended). Its been snowing too. This winter, and the last one I guess, has been very different here in terms of the snowing and cold. Before, it snowed and like in many coastal climate zones it got warm resulting to awful slushy snow and terrible conditions.
We've of course had that too. Like last saturday when it rained/snowed for a day in warm temperatures. But tonight and like most times it has snowed here this winter it's gone straight down to sub zero temperatures. It's fascinating and I love it too. Real winter But it's also a little scary. It hasn't been this long streak of cold in 150 years or so. And it's only the beginning, well, of december.
Belfast's covered, temperatures are down to about -2 during the day and -8 at night. We've got heavy snow forecast today, Monday and Tuesday. Here's a view from my living room window ...
It's a bit nippy, granted, but hardly at the heights we reached a fortnight ago. Hopefully that's to come. I find the chaos a sprinking of snow brings amusing
Colombia's pretty much in chaos due to bad weather (extremely heavy rains), roads are being destroyed, bridges are collapsing, people are getting killed by floods, the whole 9! Pretty awesome how nature's taking care of natural selection right in front of our eyes and we can do nothing to stop it.
Other than build bridges with some integrity. I love the snow, not such a fan of the cold though, obviously. What I really can't fucking hack is the constant rolling news coverage of the weather though. Scottish local news is as embarrassing as they come at the best of times but when a half hour news program is literally only focused on the weather it becomes beyond a joke. The news for the past 2-3 weeks has consisted of different, alienated looking rejects standing outside in a different part of the country, where guess what? IT'S BEEN FUCKING SNOWING.
The quicker the idiotic powers that be realise that we live in SCOTLAND then the quicker we'll be able to handle this like a normal nation.
Well I agree with you, Andy, this extreme rain thing happens every fucking year (tropical region, anyone?) yet they treat it like a national catastrophe. Yeah sure it's sad that people die because of it but it's mostly the poor people who build their shacks on riverbanks FFS, idiots.
snowing like fuck here, especially in and around amsterdam. but where i live as well. i really hate snow, this country already is a lightbulb waiting to explode everyday but with snow the traffic is awful (yesterday at 20.30 there were still traffic jams of 30km at some places). awful, just awful
I didn't feel it much today, hottest day of the year or ever or summat? Saying that I'm indoors between 8-6 and don't bother going outside for breaks
You'll be thrilled to hear I donned some shorts for the first time in years the other day (apart from holidays of course), over here I always preferred jeans even in decent weather. But it was getting to me (and my crotch) so I cut down some old cords into shorts. Result. Mahoney will hate me even further but I then matched them with some hi-top converse. I wouldn't wear them with jeans but I cant imagine wearing anything else with shorts, weird shit.
What are you currently wearing (in hot weather)? Question goes to no.2, eddiemurphy
I could never hate you Sully. Also, in this heat desperate measures sometimes are needed. I wore my collar up Cantona style outside today, not because I thought I looked tough, but because my neck was roasting.
Haha well it's just I remember you saying you hated converse. I find a girl in converse and jeans incredibly sexy but couldn't do it myself. Lads don't suit this combo.
