Well folks the sea was very angry on the weekend. I haven't seen waves this big in a long time! Thankfully no major damage from the latest hurricane that just creeped by us.

Got woken up just before 7am by the loudest thunder clap I've ever heard, sat bolt upright wondering if something had exploded.

We had hurricane Earl pass through the weekend and boy did it ever deliver some rain... upwards of 200mm+ (and it's still fucking raining here) and winds of 115 km/h

Thankfully I didn't end up like Murphs and got my roof sorted in the spring.

I always hate this time of year, seems every hurricanes that start down in the Caribbean always ends up hitting us instead of staying offshore. We'd hardly see them years a go but I guess GLOBAL WARMING is REAL.

Well, we got lucky this time. Hurricane Fiona is barreling through but looks like it won't make landfall in my direct path (just on the western part of the island). I am still preparing for power outages and all that good stuff.

Prince Edward Island looks like it's gonna get smashed.

Looks like I was wrong. Port Aux Basques Newfoundland is getting hammered right now from Fiona.

I seen a report of a woman being dragged out to sea and another one being saved by a few bystanders who seen her bobbing in the ocean. Wind gusts of 177km/h and 6 hours to go.

Thankfully I am on the other side of the island so it's actually a sunny day here.

Fiona hit the hotel we were meant to be staying at end of October in DR. Hotel will be closed until early November so now we're waiting to see from the travel agent we booked through what our options are. Not sure if they're gonna try and chuck us in another hotel, let us choose somewhere else or let us cancel and get a refund. FFS.
