That is a great tune indeed and I think the first thing I've ever heard by Captain Beefheart.

Now appears to be the perfect time for me to get into him and rant about the fact that I've always been into him and it's not just because he's died and I'm feeling opportunistic. Anyone got any suggestions with an album to start with? Pointing me in the direction of a torrent would be appreciated also since I am in the musical wilderness without a Waffles/What account.

Start with the debut 'Safe As Milk' Andy, that song above is from the album, Trout Mask Replica is obviously the big famous album but its a tough listen and takes some real listening and patience its huge aswell, also Lick My Decals Off, Baby is like a more condensed Trout Mask.. both great albums, but Safe As Milk is the best place to start I would say, sorry no torrent links though

Very sad news. He wasn't making music anymore but to me, the fact that a person so special was still alive somewhere, made this world a better place.

Thanks for the suggestion, Kev. Downloading 'Safe as Milk' just now. Although decent torrents are thin on the ground. The usual sites will probably be awash with them in a day or two now that he has gone to the great gig in the sky.

just google search it, you'll find any of his albums easily.

My personal favourite is Clear Spot, infact that was going to be my choice for the soapbox album club before Dan DELETED the board
