still think NEW EDUCATION are the best ladrock band of recent years. TODAY is so big, deserved to be a massive hit. the kind of song the twang could only dream of making.

They announced their first US dates. Playing right down the road at Maxwell's for $10 on 3/25. May have to check that one out.

Not many US dates, just SXSW and NYC area.

Was in there once and the toilets (above the bar/standing area) flooded cause of a leaking piss/shit pipe. It started dripping from the roof and lights so they just put a couple of buckets down

It's changed venue now and has moved to an old church building. The old place had character, the new place is full of weirdos.

I was channel flicking friday night and on Channel 4 there was some indie music program which was awful but had Gruff on it so it was alright. Anyway when I put it on this band were on and I started swearing at the TV 'They look ridiculous' 'look how they are dressed, they look like fucking geeks this ain't rock n roll' then it ended and the presenter said 'this is the new song from Brother' Song was embarrassing as well. They did another one at the end which was more along the lines of what I'd expect but fucking hell I thought this mob was giving it the big one? I reckon the drummer from Blur could smash all 4 of them.

On a side note, are those Frankie & the Heartstrings genuinely enjoyable? I've read a few good things about them.

They're touring with Brother right now mate. Re-named themselves as 'All The Young' and have their first single out now. Fucking proper rock n roll band, first newish band thats got me excited for years. The other New Education stuff was brilliant too
