Source: www.guardian.co.uk & SCYHO "We first told you back in August of 2009 that Noel Gallagher had been speaking to members of the Sand Band about joining his new backing band. The Guardian has now released a review of the Sandband's debut album confirming the lead singer's participation in Noel's band."

This is very very good. Ill throw it in turtle.
Very Shack-ish. Poppier Verve.
Its there now, drummer's name is Jay Sharrock, wondering if its Chris' brother. Both are from Liverpool (as is The Sand Band).

Enjoying this, thanks Ben. Very nice to hear some scousers doing their thing, I doubt anyone else could make music like this. Very cool.

Don't agree with you there Sally but either way it's a very good record.

what, about the scousers? its their sound man! I've never heard it done so well. I'm possibly going through a scouse revival though, dug out the bandits the other day, echo and the bunnymen and now this record. I feel all woozy with it. Still, I get a very similar vibe from I Am Kloot who I'm also especially into right now and they're Mancs so maybe I'm wrong! I just remembered the thing Liam said about 'rent-a-scouser' - he was right!

I really don't think the Sand Band sound very scouse, had the accent not given it away I would of guessed they were mancs personally. I could hear a bit of kloot, mellow side of Doves & the quiet side of Elbow.
Top record either way.

What?! It was instant coral when I first put it on. They're proper scouse to me! Ah well, people hear different things, they could bloody come from Portsmouth for all I care

It's clear what Noel sees in them tbh, The Sand Band sounds like a proper name after you have left an Oasis

on first listen, it's very nice indeed. drags a bit, although if you were in the right mood i guess it wouldn't at all.

Very nice record. Will definitely be giving it repeated spins, I think there is a bit more charm to come out yet.
Sounds very Coralesque to me.

Pretty disapointed after the hype. Very repetitve and one dimensional. Sounds fuck all like The Verve, just a more stylish Starsailor with no Good Souls

Yeah, nothing similar to The Verve and not a tune that stands up and offers something really different. Still it's a nice album.

Pretty disapointed after the hype. Very repetitve and one dimensional. Felt the same way after one listen. Glad I'm not the only one. Having said that it still merits another listen or two so opinions could change.
