Anyone else finding this whole affair rather sad, yet amusing? Obviously the decision was delayed from last week - I assume that Leyton Orient are causing the delays to the selection process and fair play to them! The Spurs bid is disgusting tbh. Seb Coe should have accept the 25k groundshare between Orient & Wasps when he had the chance

Why's the Spurs bid disgusting?
West Ham are currently offering tickets to a tenner with a marketing tagline of 'save our season'. They're also selling tickets for 50 quid with a curry and beer thrown in lol They still don't sell out.
There's no way they can sell out the Olympic stadium. That's without holding atheletics events there which will be lucky to have 10k through the door.
If West Ham win that stadium, regardless of the sucess of the games, that place will be a sign of failure like the Dome was.
The Spurs bid makes sense.

Why does the Spurs bid make sense?
Athletics are 100% against it.

Tearing down a £200m public funded stadium to line the pockets of Spurs execs? Do Spurs fans even want it?
The west ham bid at least makes sense considering location and use. Something tells me Orient will get one hell of a compensation package.

Tearing down a brand new athletics stadium to build a new football ground so as spurs can start playing in east TCOTU (!) doesn't sound right to me.

Location - Stratford is hardly East TCOTU to me. It's one stop away from the City. It's also nearer to Tottenham than West Ham. It's hardly the same as moving to Barking or something.
The west ham bid at least makes sense considering location and use - It's a naive to suggest that West Ham or Athletics outside of 2012 will fill that stadium. Our plans for an Athletics legacy (http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2011/01/28/2327743/tottenham-release-images-of-proposed-crystal-palace) are considerably more sensible because no one gives a fuck about Athletics outside of the Olympics and World Championships.
I think the idea of a Olympic Stadium in general is rediculous btw.
Do Spurs fans even want it? Most don't, I do.
Just my thoughts and I don't think their influenced too much by my Tottenham bias. I wouldn't mind seeing West Ham get it and make a complete hash of it tbh.

West Ham are selling tickets for the Stoke game for £15 on secretsales.com and that's one of their bigger games of the season. The funniest thing is they have already sold tickets for less than that this season.
100% should not be moving to a new stadium.
Tell me I am wrong.

West Ham getting the stadium may be best for athletics but they wont be fucking filling it that's for sure.

TBF unless I was a Spurs fan living in North TCOTU I would've been up for that move too. You guys need a bigger stadium and they're having trouble redeveloping WHL aren't they?

whats wrong with white hart lane though? i like the look of it from what iv seen on tv. It's a nightmare to get to, they have shut down all the good pubs and the high road is a really poor area. It's not the kind of place you would want to be on a non-match day. The areas just tired and boring. And that's without getting into how badly the council have treated us over the years. Stratford would have been new and fresh. Just my opinion, most want to stay for the history which is fair enough.

I much prefer the plans for the new Stadium next to White Hart Lane, wasn't keen on Stratford

Wasn't there council problems? I remember thinking they were only declaring attention on the Olympic stadium to force the councils hand to keep them in the area. Then of course it became a bit more real

Council has always been a nightmare in letting us expand the stadium and improve transport links. God knows why. Rumours the deal could be back on by the way. West Ham have had an application refused to let their fans park their caravans on the running track during games

Shops go chicken house, newsagent, chicken house, newsagent, taxi office, chicken house, chicken house, newsagent, chicken house and so on for about 2 miles.
It's utter, utter shank.
