Yeah, how about a source on that? Everywhere I've seen it's no more than £18m + Ireland. Still a steep price, but nowhere have I seen the figures you're quoting.
And yeah, I'm gonna miss little Stevie too, but his confidence appeared completely shot by the end of last year. He had to go.

He only had to go because he was unfairly squeezed out. He was arguably your best player in the Mark Hughes era (era might be a bit strong ) Had the season of his life then got treated like shit and ignored. Much like Bellamy.

Yeah, I agree completely. Him and Petrov are the two players I'm most pissed about losing. Bellamy would have done something stupid eventually, so that was inevitable, but Stevie and Petrov were both consistently good to great from the time they arrived. (Except in Petrov's case, that was about a game and a half, since he was always injured.)

Ha! Reminds me of a few years ago, I was talking to my dad, who was watching the City-Hull beatdown (I think it was the 'Phil kept the players out at halftime' match) where Stevie was dominating, and he asked me who the little bald fellow was who was playing so well. I laughed.

I'd take Ireland over Milner as well. Horrible signing for club and player. nah milner's better. good player tbf. did well for villa. chipped in with goals and created chances. think he'll fit in quite well at city as it goes. ;D

I reckon he will start on the right instead of SWP making an already flat midfield lacking pace even more flat and paceless. I reckon an Ireland/Milner midfield combo would worked quite well tbh

City are a fucking joke now.
Ireland was brilliant a couple of years ago and the following season he was frozen out, the same exact thing has now happened to Bellamy. Clearly at City your name is more important than your ability.

Like I keep saying...we're still City. We could buy a time machine and go back and buy 1968 George Best, 1974 Beckenbauer and 1986 Maradonna and we'd still be lucky to finish 3rd.
With our luck, Dubai will run out of oil next month and we'll be sold to Mike Ashley's stupider brother or something.

Deal done then, £18m + Stephen Ireland (valued at £8m) for James Milner.
Good deal for Villa that.

I've never liked city tbh Andy, even before all this.
A few weeks ago I predicted them to finish first as they probably will contend for the title but I hate them so much I can't let my brain make decisions, I have to go with my heart and just assume they'll finish 5-8th simply because I want them to.
On a completely related note I've just seen that AC Milan "might" make a move for Zlatan, who obviously has played for Inter.
Now, moves between derby rivals like lolverpool/evertoon, celtic/rangers, and a bunch of other ones are VERY RARE, and are highly scrutinized when and if they happen but it seems that every bastard that signs for Inter or AC has played for the other one at one point previously, they just seem to not really care I guess? Any Serie A experts then?
