J spaceman acoustic mainline tour a few years ago was the most breathtaking thing I've ever seen in my life, it had me in tears at one point. he has a tendancy to overdo things sometimes (let it come down was spoilt in parts by that, despite it probably being the best collection of songs)

I plan to dig out a bootleg of a paris gig they did in 2004 that I recorded, I think i know where it is... will check the quality it was an amazing gig, and maybe the acoustic one in salford in 06, which is probably the best gig i've ever been to (not to sure on the quality on that one, was in a box seat up high and to the side, not the best place for recording, if i havent transferred it to CD then wont be arsed tbh)

actually the manchester one is on dimeadozen which has sign ups open right now. though the ones you want from that tour if you want to hear it are a radio broadcast from the summer sundae festival (incomplete show) and a really lovely one at the union chapel in TCOTU

That union chapel show was phenomenal, saw the acoustic mainlines tour a few times but Union Chapel was the ideal setting & a fucking amazing show plus Gruff Rhys was sat on the bench behind me.
Had such huge expectations for songs in A&E, ended up being almost bland, very disappointing, shame because the songs from A&E on the mainlines tour sounded really great. Loved the Daniel Johnston cover he always put in the set too.
I've never understood why ladies & gents is seen as such a classic record, obviously it's very good but for me it's a long way away from being a masterpiece but I've always had a lonely minority view & prefer let it come down by quite some distance.
