I love her. So much great material from so many albums over the years to enjoy. Even the early grungier songs still sound great.
I’d love the chance to see her perform live again. I’ve only seen her once but it was one of the best gigs I’ve been to.

Those first couple of records could really use a good re-mastering. The Cds just sound a bit poo. Need to revisit those records though, apart from the occasional tune they never clicked with me the same way everything from To Bring You My Love onwards did.
JP, I see you've not rated "Dance Hall at Louse Point", the 1st record she made with John Parish, definitely worth checking out.

Nice, will check it out.
Really want to see her at a proper gig. Only seen her twice, ince being at V2003 which I barely remember as it was 16 years ago and then Field Day the other year where I barely remember her due to all the overpriced tins of Red Stripe.

Also because some cunt said "hey, let's go further back, the sound will be much better!" to find out the speakers were turned off.
She was sensational at Brixton on the last album tour. Also caught her on the Uh Huh Her tour at Somerset House which I remember being pretty good, she was much more energetic on stage those days. Interesting to see where she goes next. I was really surprised to see so much indifference to The Hope Six.. record, for me it was on par than Let England Shake (sometimes I even prefer it). It definitely felt like a sequel to that record so perhaps it'll be time for her to try something different next time around.

Hope six isn’t even close to let England shake, although the show i saw her do based around hope six was one of the 5-6 best shows I saw last decade. (The 4-song suite of let England shake songs in the middle of the show was maybe the best thing I saw, period.)

This was the only PJ Harvey thread I could find, but she's back after 7 years away.
Thoughts on her new single? I love all her albums, probably the only artist I can say that about, but the new single is dire imo. After 7 years away! I can only hope she released her worst song as the first single.
All her albums still stand huge for me, especially Is This Desire and To Bring You My Love. Still buzzing that I bumped into her and she pretended otherwise hahaha 💝

Yeah new song is a huge disappointment. Still, at least she didn't lie to me in Tesco!

Haha she look surprised I fell for it as I remember. She didn't sound like she had an accent and obviously I know her birthplace and she twigged so kept the words simple, but feck, at least she knew I wasn't just a tosser who only approached her from randomly seeing her new video.
I just hope she brings Meet Ze Monsta back into the setlist because of the experience, either way.
