I think I'm going to just drive down and get the tickets at the box office.. Probably more likely to get tickets that way and will be cheaper. The metro doesn't use ticketmaster, so it doesn't look like there will be a presale. Yea, I think the presales are a Ticketmaster/Live Nation thing. Apparently the Chicago show is using "Etix.com" as their seller. Have no clue.

Sweet, the arctics onsale for montreal doesn't conflict with the bdi onsale for toronto.
Are there TM pre-sales or anything for beady eye? I haven't seen anything yet.

Sweet, the arctics onsale for montreal doesn't conflict with the bdi onsale for toronto. Are there TM pre-sales or anything for beady eye? I haven't seen anything yet. The NYC show has a presale Wednesday according to the Ticketmaster page. I thought this was a AMEX only thing, but that particular presale is Thursday. So it looks like there are presales for selected shows. Look at the TM page and look at the onsale part. It should say.

For the NYC show it just says "Ticketmaster Presale" - which I dont know what the fuck is.
Onsale to General Public Start: Fri, 03/11/11 12:00 PM EST
Ticketmaster Presale Start: Wed, 03/09/11 10:00 AM EST End: Fri, 03/11/11 11:00 AM EST
American Express Start: Thu, 03/10/11 12:00 PM EST End: Fri, 03/11/11 11:00 AM EST
Maybe an unpassworded presale. Never seen that shit before.

Confused as shit. Why can't they just say... "tickets on sale 11am, there you go."
Fuckers.

I'm going to the Toronto show regardless of whether I get tickets through Ticketmaster. I'll pay through the nose on ebay or whatever if I have to...just won't be buying one for my wife in that case. Gonna try and go to NYC though. It's the day before my birthday, so would be nice.

Yeah, for TO it looks like there's a radio presale on wednesday and a TM one on thursday.
Was kind of hoping the toronto show would be at the phoenix, but beggars can't be choosy, I guess. (Has anyone ever been to the sound academy for a gig before? I haven't...)

To put it plainly, Sound Academy is the worst venue I have EVER been to.
-Hard to get to -Shit sound -Bar is impossible to get near
Theres also serious bottlenecking. Id hate if a fire ever broke out there and you were stuck near one of the bottlenecks.
I said earlier that it was the worst on the east coast, but it really probably is the worst place Ive ever seen a show. Just complete and utter horseshit.

I saw Bloc Party there and the sound was good, but ben's point about the bottleneck, I completely agree with. It's just an all around shit layout. But yeah, the worst possible place they could have had the gig in Toronto. I swore I wouldn't go back there for a show, but I'm obviously BDI4IT, so I have to go.

What is the Metro like?

My favorite venue in Chicago. Small, decent sound, can see the stage from anywhere in the place, and bartenders are decent if you tip well and are polite. Usually by the mid point of the gig if you make an effort to always go to the same bartender they pour you REALLY generous drinks. My Jack and cokes were about 80% Jack at the Jonestown gig because I tipped well and treated the bartender like an actual person. A lot of doucebags go to the Metro because it's right across the street from Wrigley Field, so I think the bartenders are just happy to be treated with some respect once and a while.
Plus there is an amazing bar (The Gingerman) next door for pre and post gig pissups.
I'm really happy they're playing at the Metro, but like I said, it's a small venue, so hopefully tickets don't go too quickly.

They're going to go quick. All three of these gigs. Im surprised at Webster Hall. Its only 1400 capacity, plus rip off the requisite 10% or so of the tickets off the top for guestlists and promotions and its even less. Since theres no Boston, Philly, or DC, lots of cunts from these areas will travel. L4E mongs up the ass.
I was hoping for Terminal 5, which isnt my favorite, but bigger. I like Webster Hall, just think tix are going to be a headache.
As for Sound Academy, yea the sound on the opener was abysmal, but the headliner was okay. I was really annoyed with that place. We almost left it was so uncomfortable.
