The Bluetones are planning to split up in September, the band have announced.
The four-piece, who formed in 1993, have decided to call it a day with a farewell UK tour later in 2011.
"We're afraid the time has come and we must say farewell," they said in a statement posted on their MySpace page, Myspace.com/thebluetones this morning (March 28).
They added: "After 17 years of touring and six studio albums, The Bluetones have decided that this Autumn's tour will be our last.
"We will be playing a career-spanning set of songs as a way to say thank you to our loyal supporters and hopefully signing off with a bit of a bang."
The TCOTU four-piece - Mark Morriss, Adam Devlin, Scott Morriss and Eds Chesters - scored their biggest hit in 1996 with 'Slight Return'. That song peaked at Number Two in the UK singles chart.
The song was taken from their debut album 'Expecting To Fly', which briefly knocked Oasis' (What's The Story) Morning Glory?' off the top of the UK albums chart in February that year.
The last studio album they recorded was 'A New Athens', which was released in May 2010.
The Bluetones will play:
Yeovil Orange Box (September 3)
Cardiff Millennium Music Hall (5)
Reading Sub89 (6)
Brighton Concorde 2 (7)
Southampton The Brook (8)
Manchester Club Academy (10)
Glasgow O2 ABC (11)
Newcastle O2 Academy (12)
Sheffield O2 Academy 2 (13)
Liverpool O2 Academy 2 (15)
TCOTU O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire (16)
Leeds Cockpit (17)
Bournemouth O2 Academy (18)
Oxford O2 Academy 2 (20)
Bristol O2 Academy (21)

Thank fuck for that, will never have to read 'bluetones, 8/10' ever again in the rateyourgig thread.
