the horizon follows and is another slower number. this was their most recent single and whilst its a huge tune it doesnt quite live up to the opening trio on this record in terms of singalongability and general feelings of ladness. its a bit like the forum member its named after really, you enjoy it whilst its around but arent too fussed when it fucks off. 9/10

quiet night in is up next, one of my live favourites. a proper fist in the air anthem that gets me all excited every time i hear it. a welcome return in an upped tempo as far as the lp goes too. 10/10

here to stay reminds me a bit of the enemy in places which is a bit disappointing as all the young man is so much better than ugly tom, but their rasps here are very similar. other than that though its a top tune about being in charge of your own destiny and achieving your dreams. 8/10

arcane is another old single from the new education days and one of my old favourites. not sure on first listen to this version though as theyve added some guitar parts that sound a bit wanky. would have been a 10/10 for the old version but will deduct a point due to shit guitars until they grow on me. 9/10

the album ends with the tune welcome home, which i know the band themselves consider to be their best tune. im not so sure about that myself, definitley think that the opening trio and quiet night in are better. this builds fairly nicely though and has a good solo. better live than on record though 8/10

Had a couple of listens & sorry JP but this really ain't doing nothing for me To me it just sounds like a cross between Northern Uproar & Shed 7 without Shed 7's knack for great singles. I like a couple of tunes & maybe it'll grow but I think I'll stick with the twang for my weatherspoons soundtrack.
