Kanye West supporting U2 Transistors before Jeff The Brotherhood The Books Before Camera Obscura- not a huge huge books fan, but theyre interesting and it was an odd fit that worked.

Saw The Coral support Arctic Monkeys a few years ago when Bill Ryder Jones were still in the band, they were amazing, blew Arctic Monkeys out of the water.

The Sunday Drivers supporting Wilco -> They were a last hour add-on as something happened with the original support band. So they came in and played a nice stripped down set, was a great surprise tbh.
Smith Westerns supporting MGMT -> Just before the leak of Dye It Blonde, they were nice not mindblowing by any means, but good enough for a support.
I saw The Coral opening for Oasis back in 2005 but the truth is I can't remember anything from it. I hope I can take off this thorn on Field's Day's.
Surely there's something else I'm missing, but we usually get mediocre local bands.

If we're talking about Oasis support acts, then me seeing Doves followed by the Happy Mondays in 2000 easily beats that.
Pissed-up Ryder > Gashcroft
