So we just spent two weeks in this beautiful building in a great neighbourhood. That was exchange #6 and it globally went very well. Disclaimer: people probably peed in my bathtub and had sex in my bed, but this doesn't bother me. The apartment was clean & tidy when we got here and even though I have some minor qualms, it's nothing compared to the fact that we had a great holiday.

That, considering the amount of food they used up at our place, it would have been nice to leave at least some bread & some milk so that we could have breakfast this morning.

You have to leave them food in your cupboards and fridge? Bloody hell. You would think any polite person would have bought some essentials to restock before they left.
We don't have to, it's just a nice way to do it. TBH, we didn't stock up either, but their were some essentials plus the weekly fruits & vegetables basket that our exchangees are always welcome to get in our stead.

Always find this fascinating, I honestly don't think I'd be comfortable having strangers live in my home & sleeping in my bed but at the same time it's wonderful to hear that it's worked out great for you every time so far. The food thing, I wouldn't expect to find any food at a house I was staying at but if you are going to eat somebody else's food then I guess it's only fair you replace it before they return.
TBH there was no bathtub in that case. You showered right in the middle of the bathroom, I mean: on the slightly slanted floor, next to the toilet. I didn't mind.
So, do you change the locks every time or...? I admire people who aren't paranoid and clean freaks, I'd have to shut down my home for a week after coming back to anti-bacterialize (?) everything and burn down the sheets .

You're a clean freak? Well, we can't get married now.

Nope, we do noy change the locks; it's an experiment in trust, remember (plus, in our new apartment, you need to send the key with a secret number to a place near Paris to have it copied).
Exchange 7 starts on thursday; we're off to TCOTU. Who'd like to meet me there if I was able to overcome my shyness? And is there a gig I should attend?
