Threw a pint of piss at amy winehouse? 10 points to Karl! Didn't wanna go all the way to the back so pissed in a pint glass and threw at the mosh pit as Horrorshow kicked in Equal parts and tbh. There's been a lot of ups and downs today. Generally go from being very. very, very hungover to briefly feeling very jolly about the gig. That gig sounds fucking epic, CMPunk. That video made me so emotional I almost shed a tear. Carl & Pete back together This is just like '03. Best year EVA!!

Gonna upset the applecart here and say the Leeds fest gig was something of a disappointment.
I've no doubt that the gig that Sam went to was epic, but that's the sort of venue they really shine in.
For a starters the sound was shit. They didn't really get it together too well either in the first few songs (and not in an exciting fractious shambolic kind of way, they just didn't). The crowd were also fucking awful, 16-17 year olds who just went mad because it was a Big Event, I bet the crowd at the Forum was tops.
It was still good, and that run of songs at the end was fucking mint, but it wasn't everything I'd hoped.
7.5/10

Aye I've never really been too impressed with the main stage sound at Leeds tbh. And the crowd are getting younger and younger...(or am I getting older and older? )

I'd be interested to hear someone compare that gig who saw them a lot in the early days but they didn't have that same energy I'd hoped they would. I think part of it got lost in the shit sound and the atmosphere but I also think they're that bit older and more serious about it all than they were before, which obviously in the past led to them not turning up but I'd imagine probably led to a much more exciting, fun and unpredictable show when they did play.

yeah i thought they nailed the reading set too, looked really good.
i never listen to the libertines for some reason though. its like i almost forget i really loved that debut, the second album didnt do much for me at all though. i guess its easy to be put off them what with babyshambles and dpt both being a bit shit and doherty getting all the bad press and stuff, but yeah up the bracket fucking great lp.
