One of my favourite players ever. Such a graceful, tremendously skilled player. First move is so sick.

This one's great as well, another Argentinian legend
Too bad I can't find a good video of Santiago Solari. Him, Redondo and Riquelme are my favourite non Ajax players since I was born.

Riquelme was phenomenal and also the last real 'number 10' I think. That playmaker who didn't give a shit about defending, but turned out to be fucking brilliant when he had the ball. It's a shame most clubs don't build their team around such characters anymore. Too much at stake, I guess.
Thumbs up for mentioning Redondo and Solari by the way, another 2 all-time favourites of mine.
I was crazy about this man as well:
So much style. So much vision.

Fuck yeah, true football players. Not these nowadays shits who have no vision, no style, no charisma but just run around the pitch like a bunch of dumb fucks.

Much love for Riquelme, truly the last of a dying breed. He and Totti are my favorite player of all time, stupidly good to watch, will find some good videos of them the morra.

Great thread! I remeber when Mostovoi couldn`t get many games for Benfica around 1992-1994 when we had Rui Costa, João Pinto, Isaías, etc. Great teems. Dani was such a waste of talent. As an under 20 palyer, he had more impact than Figo, Rui Costa, João Pinto, Ronaldo, etc. He left football at 26 or something Rui Costa was one of those special players. One that combine pure talent, great vision, passion and love. Only left Benfica at 22 becouse we had to sell him. Only left Fiorentina for the same reason. He was the soul of his teams and such a joy to watch.

thread keeps getting better and better
riquelme, what a man. proper foot-on-the-ball-with-a-cigar-on playmaker. i really hope we haven't seen the last of players like him and we don't just keep breeding clogging sweat merchants.

I think that within 10 years from now every big European team will play with allround, 'box-to-box' midfielders only. Would be a sad development, but I'm afraid it's inevitable if you see how hard managers are trying to minimize the risks these days in what once was the most beautiful sport on earth.
Wish we could just go back to the '90s...
Davor Suker, aka my childhood hero, along with the man in the video you're about to see next:
They were 'it' for me.

Sadly we are watching some of the last good old "10". At least for some years looks like modern tactics don`t have a place for them. And most of them to fit their teams, are playing as 2nd striker, fake winger or as a box-to-to box like an "8". Other sad signs about tactical evolution of the game is that the old true winger is becoming less and less common.

Davor Suker, he was an icon from my younger days, just like Predrag Mijatović.
Will never forget this goal
It's not even that great but at that time it seemed like the greatest thing ever, I think. To score the winning goal in a CL final is what we all dream about as kids...
Ilhan Mansiz at 2002 World Cup, loved the fact he did it against Brazil
Lars Ricking, could've been bigger than The Beatles
TALKING ABOUT UNDERRATED. Mehmet Scholl, legend.
Stefan Effenberg, my main man.
Also a mention for Hakan Şükür, always had a soft spot for the man.

Hakan Sükür Turkey's hope back in the days, by far the best player of the country at the time. God, he must've felt lost with those losers around him... I actually found myself supporting Croatia when they played against Holland at the World Cup in '98 because of Suker He was part of a great team I must say, with Boban, Prosinecki, Simic and Vlaovic. Check this out: One of the greatest targetmen I've ever seen. Also a must-buy in ISS Pro Evolution for the PSX ;D
