Because it kicks the shit out of living in the midwest. it doesn't though. awful fucking state with draconian laws and backwards people. Actually, the majority of the people I have met here have been laid back and awesome. Completely the opposite of the asshats in Illinois. I love how you keep going on about draconian laws and shit when Illinois is probably the least 'free' state in the USA. Outside of the city of Chicago, Illinois is an absolute cesspool of Republicans. No offense Rolli, but you're obviously ignorant about Illinois government and you've obviously never spent any significant time in Arizona. Are there conservative nutters here? Certainly, but nowhere near as bad as you seem to think.

Ha, i've been to Carefree, Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Mesa. You do know that the southern portion of Arizona wants to secede from the rest of the state right?
Awful place.

Not just articles i've been in the state it is a shit hole case closed. You are right about the rest of Illinois, but you didn't live in the rest of Illinois. Chicago and its sprawl are liberal and inviting for the most part.
Don't get too tan Dave otherwise you may get thrown into tent city if you lack the proper ID.

It's not a shit hole rolli. It's quite beautiful really, far moreso than Illinois.
And you can drive less than 20 minutes north of Chicago and hit nothing but republicans and assholes. The city of Chicago is liberal, the so called "sprawl" isn't. The rest of the state is even worse. I know, I've lived in the actual city, right outside of it, in the western portion of the state near the Iowa border, and less than 30 minutes away from the Wisconsin border. But thanks for telling me where I've lived before. Any other insights into my life you'd like to give me?

As I said before, and as you just proved, you take Chicago out of the equation, and it's a republican state.
I hate to break it to you Rolli, but the politics of a certain state affect the average person very little. Arizona is a beautiful state, my cost of living is half of what it was when I lived in Chicago, and the weather is a million times better here. The people, by and large, are a lot friendlier here. The only thing I miss about Chicago are my friends and the music scene, otherwise Arizona has been better in every aspect.
Yeah, Arizona has some really dodgy issues with immigration policies, but Illinois was corrupt as hell. At the end of the day, neither of those things affect(ed) me at all.

Always heard good thing about AZ honestly. Man I've been looking at the houses you can buy in the Southwest right now on the cheap. NC is a good state, in fact Raleigh (where I live) keeps getting rated the #1 city in the country for some reason. It's cool, but think that is a little more of a family based rating.
One of these days.

Why don't they just build a time-machine, set the dial to 1969 and get it over with already.
