It sounds like lukewarm soup - not unpleasant, but tepid and completely flavourless. There's absolutely nothing of interest. It plods around at the same directionless place and ultimately goes absolutely no where. I genuinely thought Noel would have had at least one or two great tracks in reserve, ready to be used on a solo album. But instead he had to re-heat shit Oasis rejects like 'Stop the Clocks' to fill 10 tracks. Even as a committed Team BDI member and Noel cynic, I'm shocked at how crap it is. The first three tracks. WTF? 5/10, at a push. I havent heard it yet but I agree with this review.

I am glad that I'm not itching to hear it. From the bits I've heard and the comments I've read I'm looking forward to hearing what he's come up with but its hardly like when I biked round toms as fast as I could with lyla on cd-r cos his internet wasn't working type anticipation.
Will wait for the release or a decent rip

Everybody's On The Run - just stunning, lived up to expectations and more, already a classic - 9 Dream On - really like this one, the 'shout it out for me' parts become a little tiresome if being picky, but overall, a great tune - 8 If I Had A Gun - one of the most tearjerking choruses he's ever written tbh - 9 The Death Of You And Me - probably overshadowed a bit now, but still a top tune. never been able to understand the negativity towards it - 8 I Wanna Live In A Dream - overblown, massive, which can go either way, but it works well on this one - 7 AKA...What A Life - breaks the album up nicely and offers something different, a huge solo could have propelled it - 7 Soldier Boys & Jesus Freaks - really underrated so far, love this one, great lyrics also - 8 AKA...Broken Arrow - a bit dull, struggling to share the love for it, but getting better with each listen - 6 Stranded On The Wrong Beach - nice title but a little bland and not the best vocal, misses his brother's roaring voice here - 5 Stop The Clocks - pretty great end to the album, the last minute is joyful chaos - 8
It's a slight shame Alone On The Rope isn't on it, but overall, pleased.

Broken Arrow is breathtaking, verses are some of the best noel has ever written, and the lyrics are very romantic without it sounding cheesy.
Incredible song.

Okay, 2 listens now and the only songs which I like (actually, I think they're astounding tbf) are Everybody's On The Run & Stop The Clocks.
Maybe the rest will grow on me with repeated listens but overall, I can't say I'm blown away right now.

he's done a pretty great job with Record Machine I reckon, really wasn't looking forward to it but it feels quite SOTSOG-y, in a positive way. the album ends in terms of good songs after that though i think
