I love Noel's new album, but I have been listening to DM and MG non-stop since coming across these articles and these albums are simply unbeatable for so many reasons.

Alan White was on fire until the SOTSOG era, when he just seemed to give up. Contrast his drumming from Maine Road '96 and Wembley '00. He just doesn't seem arsed in the latter. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure I've read & heard Noel claim he did the majority of the drumming on SOTSOG

I'm sure one of the L4E or Rod will be able to tell you definitively, but I think Alan White was on the drums for SOTSOG. There's certainly a pic of him drumming in the studio in the album booklet.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure I've read & heard Noel claim he did the majority of the drumming on SOTSOG Alan did the drumming on SOTSOG and I believe Jeremy Stacey did the majority of the drumming on the SOTSOG demos (along with numerous drum loops). For me, Alan's drumming was still fine on the album but beginning on the SOTSOG tour his quality declined quickly and severely. This carried over into the HC sessions where he became shit, even in the studio.

I'm pretty sure Alan White manned the sticks on SOTSOG. Sure, there are a few loops going on but it sounds like Whitey most of the time.
Fantastic thread, this. It should really be in the Music section rather than languishing in this shithouse.

New interviews up with Anjali Dutt, engineer for the Sawmill recording sessions for Definitely Maybe. www.oasis-recordinginfo.co.uk/?page_id=137Interesting where she compares her mix of Columbia ( ) to Owen Morris' final mix. Fucking fantastic website.

Interesting to hear her mix of Columbia, but Owen's final version is unbeatable.
