I'd rather play infront of nobody than for a bunch of RHCP fans.

Yeah, the Hultsfred festival this summer. I felt genuinely distressed and a bit sad seeing it.
Would have been way more dignified playing on a smaller tent-stage. OFWGKTA was on the same festival and I would say half of the crowd left when they saw some of the members walking by.

TBH Swedes are more happy with a bit of metal and some eurodisco, most swedes don't have bollocks big enough to understand beady eye.
Korn and the knife were probably on at the same time.

Don't fucking diss The Knife. And that may be true, actually it is very true. Not really Swedish, it's people in general, isn't it? But it was still 50% pathetic to see and 50% very distressful. Certainly no win for Beady Eye that day.

i wonder what noel '95 would have said if you'd have told him that noel '12 would be the "special guest" at a fucking rhcp concert. i love that guy, but this is too much. Probably the same thing he said when Oasis opened for REM.

Big difference a young band who'd not sold millions of records supporting a large act (& a good one) than a 40 year old man with millions of quid in the bank only doing the gig cos he's being payed a shitload due to the fact RHCP's have announced a gig they will never sell out. Don't fucking diss The Knife. And that may be true, actually it is very true. Not really Swedish, it's people in general, isn't it? But it was still 50% pathetic to see and 50% very distressful. Certainly no win for Beady Eye that day. I'm not dissing, I'm just saying you have by far the largest testicles in the whole of Scandinavia. Some of the bookings at Swedish festivals are a bit baffling sometimes though. Arvikafestivalen had it's eurodisco/electro type thing going on kind of appealing to a certain audience then they went and got Babyshambles the other year

I'm trying to determine if this is as bad or worse than when Weller opened for the Kings of Leon in TCOTU this year. About the same, possibly slightly worse, it says here.

And that was probably their biggest mistake ever. Moving away from the electro-focus. When they finally managed to book Depeche Mode they got this deluded view they could get anything and therefore went outside their niche. And what happened? Well, they went bankrupt and closed down. Too bad though. Swedish festivals the past 10 years managed to become quite niched, all of them. You knew what type of music you would get at which type of festival. I kind of liked that. (Hipster music at Way Out West, heavy metal at Swedish Rock, electro at Arvika and so on.) Sure, you might miss the diversity, but as much as I enjoy headbanging to In Flames, it fucking grates on you after 5 seconds and I prefer not to have it anywhere near my cool sphere.

RHCP are the worst band ever, so its automatically worse, also noel is probably in the top 1000 richest people in the country, and theres literally no point in him doing this.
I'm just assuming he likes them and its a dream come true. nark.

TBH I think it's best that festivals have their own thing going for them. Once they try to appeal to everybody they become 'just another festival' & the appeal is gone for many.
I heard Live nation or one of the other horrible cunts has bought one of the Swedish festivals, maybe Hultsfred?
I'd love to go way out west but I don't think I could deal with the drinking area.

^^^ possibly the most rattled anyone has ever been in the history of the internetl, also: I really couldnt care less tbh, as the majority are in full agreement that noel's album is better and far more successful than DGSS, the same applies to noel gallaghers tour. how the hell would you know anything about anyones tours?

I thought it was at America, being at Ireland makes more sense and it's clearly to help to RHCO.
