I think I'm the only one who actually preferred this episode to last weeks'. Ozymandias was an awesome episode brilliantly executed, but I wouldn't say it's up there with my absolute personal favourite BB episodes. I dunno, I guess I sort of prefer the suspense and the way the tension gets created to the non stop pay offs of the previous episode. Plus this had plenty action anyway and that final scene, with the use of the theme music...fucking iconic.
I wonder if they filmed the final episode a long time ago (ie when they filmed the previous half series) or whether they filmed it together with the current half season? I know hair and make up can easily re create Walt from those images we saw in Denny's in 'Live Free or Die', but Vince Gilligan must have decided the ending by that point.

Yeah I heard somewhere that they have known the ending for over a year now. I'm sure it was filmed ages ago, too.

fake edit: and I may agree with what you said about the episodes, Ozymandias is so fucking grim and sad I don't think I could re-watch it (I honestly had to stop every 15 minutes to recompose), whereas this last one is more easily digested.

The final scene they filmed was the Walt and Jesse in the RV flashback teaser at the start of Ozymandias.

As for Jesse, I still think he's gonna have a big part to play. The way I see it, him & Walt are even now. As far as Jesse is now concerned, it's Walt's fault that the junkie whore died and as far as Walt is concerned, it's Jesse's fault Hank died. They've now both lost somebody they love at the hands of those Neo Nazi fuckers so I think the finale will be Walt & Jesse taking out those fuck heads. I have to agree with the logic, as in, both of them have lost what is most dear to them, but I'm not sure if they'll ever "team up" again. I don't see Jesse ever forgiving Walt for letting Jane die, there's just no way. I was watching that Jane episode again recently and you can argue that Walt directly caused her death by nudging Jesse and putting Jane on her back rather than her side (where the vomit wouldn't have choked her). Not sure if that was the intention by the writers.

I have been off on holiday the last week and watched season 3-5 Timed it perfectly as I've just finished episode 15. One of the finest tv shows I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Hope the ending does it justice I hope to fuck Walt Jnr gets it, whining wee cunt

That's quite impressive, and great timing. I don't think I can watch the finale alone, I'm too afraid.

How pissed would everyone be if it went all Wizard of Oz and ended with Walter waking up Jesse for sleeping in his chemistry class

Didn't really like gun car, but apart from that, absolutely spot on.
Glad they didn't try and pull some bullshit episode out of their arse. As Vince Gilligan had said, sometimes the obvious ending is the right ending.

YEAH.
I wanted something new and cool but ultimately it was true to itself and that was enough.
Not spectacular but quite lovely. I liked how Walt seemed to be at one with himself. One person rather than bouncing between Walt and Heisenberg.

Didn't really like gun car What didn't you like about it? I read some people on the internet saying it wasn't "realistic" enough, but c'mon, many of Walt's violent plots and schemes weren't (like the bomb on Tio's chair or the magnet scheme or the whole battery made out of coins). I thought it was perfect, very Walt-esque to come up with something like that to get out of a jam.

That gun car was brilliant, like Ana said it was quite Walt-esque and it wasn't as silly as say when Walt blew up Tucco's gaffe with that that little capsule of mercury or whatever. I really loved the last episode, everything came together as expected and it's left me feeling quite lifted compared to the last few episodes which have been anxious and horrible (in a brilliant way obviously). But yeah amazing episode it had some real punch the sky moments in it, such as - Badger and Skinny Ps brief reappearance Jesse throttling the life out of Todd Jesse smashing through the gates Only criticism was that is was perhaps a bit rushed, it almost felt like it was too perfect the way it sped from one victory to another, maybe they could've extended the episode and taken longer to get from A to B, but really can't complain too much because it was perfect (unlike that wanky Sopranos ending). Fuck knows what i'm going to fill my time with now

It was an amazing episode, the last three have been like one long last episode to me anyway. Just felt very in keeping with the show, and like sam astutely mentioned, it felt true to itself. Beautiful television throughout, I will miss it loads.
2 points of umbrage:
1. Gun car was awesome Wiseau u rat 2. Sopranos ending was perfection Stocky u rat
