I wouldn't call it amazing but I'd say it was definitely better than "nice" tbf.

I wouldn't call it amazing but I'd say it was definitely better than "nice" tbf. About half the tracks do absolutely zero for me - proper 6/10 stuff

It's at LEAST 6.2/10 brad.

I'd give it 7.5/10 in honesty. When I'm proper in the mood for it then 8.5. Sounds massive turned up loud.

yeah i was massively disappointed with the new i am kloot. theyve lost their way a bit over the past couple of years i think. fuck knows why theyve put proof on the new album as well. i know its their best tune by a million miles but seems a strange decision. I'd recommend revisiting it, heard it quite a bit now and its a lovely record, really is. Am enjoying alot of acoustic/downbeat type music recently & this really hits the spot.

ha thats quite funny because I had arranged my library by songs as I was searching for some coral tracks & proof came on, I thought I'd fucked something up and skipped to the next track Very odd decision. Yeah, it's wierd. The album is ok, better than the last two, but it just sounds like they are aiming for what Elbow accomplised with The Seldom Seen Kid (Elbow producing as well) and when they put Proof on the album, it just screams desperation for some mainstream succsess:-) But they do deserve it, The self titled album and the debut are amazing records and they are really great guys. As for this mercury prize, what's the point of it? Why would Paul Weller need this award?

Well I'd have thought it would be a boost in mainstream credibility for the award and the other artists on the list to have his name on there, I doubt they'll actually give it to him

It's really, really grown on me. I'm not too sure I agree with you (and everyone else from what I've read) with the Elbow thing, I can only really hear their influence on a couple of numbers. Right now I'm thinking it could be the best record Kloot have put out since the debut Even if they won the award I couldn't see them ever being successful like Elbow managed the other year but who knows.

I'm with NSP. I was really looking forward to the album and although there are a few nice numbers on it I can't really get into it. Not a huge fan of the production - Guy Garvey and the other bloke have gone to town on it. Elbow might suit having 3058432 string parts and horn sections on their songs, but IMO it doesn't work on I am Kloot's stuff. Not sure about the re-release of Proof either, nor people claiming it's their best song. Me & Mahoney's version of Storm Warning outside Wagamamas >>>> the new record.

Gotta be the Kit Downes trio. Best record on there by a mile.

Why was Wintersox not nominated for this?

Because he participates in the distribution of copyright material. Not acceptable tbh.

You wouldn't say that to Rob Stewart.
