The jam are my favourite ever but in terms of a 3 piece where all 3 members were superb it has to be the Hendrix experience, pains to say it but weller could of had any other 2 blokes in the band and it wouldn't of made much of a difference.

They were good & I do love them but if you are gonna talk about 3-pieces then surely the best ones should be the bands where all 3 members were essential to the band, the jam still would of existed and sounded pretty much the same whoever weller had in the band. Tho bruce did come up with a few great songs.

jimi proved that they were completely expendable after a couple of years and got another band (admittedly kept mitch ).
