Not heard it yet but that is what I guessed it'd be like. I'll give it a go & hope I like it but even if they came back with a record that sounded like the debut I doubt I'd have much interest in it any longer. Completely bored with indie-guitar bands these days unless it's the Cribs.

i feel like ive given up with new music in general as of late. spent most of this year so far revisiting the back catologue of neil young and bob dylan and checking out all their shit 80s albums ive always avoided.

It's probably new-year syndrome. The big new releases don't usually happen until march leading up to the festivals. Or maybe you are just suicidal now that the Vivian Girls are no more.

yeah i think the new year thing is all it is really. having said that though, there's not loads of releases im particularly anticipating this year. after last year was so strong this year was always going to struggle a bit. doesnt matter though really as im all about films at the minute anyway, fuck music!

It's not as atrocious as the previous one, but it's not very good. Lifeless. I'll stick to The Great Escape and singing Toerag loud.

Quite enjoying it tbh. I think You Win Some is a belter of a tune. I keep thinking of it being used in a Wrestling Montage .

This turned out pretty much how I expected. Am improvement on the last record but a million miles away from the first two albums. They've lost their edge, there's just not enough GO in their tunes. The opener has a good punchy post-punk guitar thing going on & then the chorus kicks in & it just sounds so wimpy. Their lyrics are pretty much all poncey now. what happened to tunes like The General, Peace & Quiet & Repeated Offender? It's not a bad record but for me to really like a straight forward indie-guitar record these days it has to have a bit of bottle & this hasn't got any. After about 4 songs I get kind of tired with it. A shame because they obviously know how to write a good melody but calling the record None The Wiser pretty much sums up how little they've progressed. It's like listening to the Ocean Colour Scene records after Marchin Already, exactly the same band but not half as good.
Oh & what's up with that hidden track at the end? It's better than the majority of the record.

talking of paws chrissie, you read this latest interview with them? a bit of a dig at the skinny in there, plus all the stuff about his dad not being his dad then getting cancer and stuff is pretty fucked up! bitemywire.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/paws.html
