Liked their EP the other year, I think it was re-released last year as nobody heard it in 2010. Was a really great mixture of things, roxy music, stones in a lofi kind of way.

The Others are apparently making a comeback. They have given their demos away for free, haven't listened to them but I'm guessing they're shit. theothersuk.bandcamp.com/

I've a 10 track B-sides thing I made which I play more than any of their records so it's nice that they are finally doing a B-sides comp.
Coral need to follow with a box set now.

Sweet, loved his last one. Think I read this has like 19 tracks, hope it isn't bloated.

Aye? 19 tracks does seem a bit much, but you can be sure there'll be at least half a dozen solid gold tunes amongst them. I loved his last album, he's a top live performer as well. Hardly ever gigs tho

Disclosure's album is out in Feb.
Their single that charted in the top 5 recently (latch) is pop gash (albeit one of those pop tunes that makes complete sense when you're off your face) which unfortunately doesn't bode well for people like me who've for a long time loved their garage-centric take on bassy post dubstep beats. Still hoping it's just a blip and they deliver a stonker of a debut album.

So, just listening to the Christopher Owens album and I'm really not sure what to make of it. I want to like it but it feels like there's almost some kind of barrier there.
I will say this; it seems very, very sickly-sweet. Maybe that's it. Maybe it's just too nice. Think the production is a little too clean as well.

yeah i was a bit upset with it. as a huge fan of the band girls you can see the quality songwriting and melodies are still there but its all the brass and woodwind that dont sit right with me on this lp.
i reckon after a few listens il be cool with it though but its not gonna grab me the same way those two girls lps did.
it doesnt really matter though as 2013 is the year of FOXYGEN.

I was listening to it in the bath and realized I had iTunes set to 'Shuffle', was real mad.
Anyway, gave it another listen on the way to work and enjoyed it abit more. Whether it was 'cos it was through earphones, or, 'cos it was playing in the right order, I don't know. Doesn't reach the height of his stuff with Girls but seems like it might be a nice little album, though nothing too groundbreaking.
