Considering they already ruined the old movies with "state of the art" special FX, I don't think so.

"Star Wars: Episode VII refused to let any cats out of the bag at last weekend's D23 festival, but rumour has it that Ian McDiarmid might be another old face set for a return. Jedi News reports that McDiarmid is set to make an appearance, possibly as a cloned version of the evil Emperor Palpatine, last seen (in sequence, anyway) perishing at the end of Episode VI. He's not the only former villain keen on a return, with Ray Park talking up a potential do-over as crimson-faced badass Darth Maul. "I’ve said that I would play anything to do with Star Wars,” says Park to Flicks And The City. “But really, deep down, I would love to come back as Darth Maul - that’s what I want to do." "I would go crazy, go mental, lock myself in a cabin, you know. Do the whole ‘method’ for two or three months, spear-fishing and stuff, just to play the character again." The character met a sticky end at the end of Episode I, but was resurrected in The Clone Wars, so we guess it's not impossible." Bring everyone back I say Jabba, Vader, General Grievous, the Cantina Band, the pod race commentator played by Greg Proops, plenty of room for all! (Not you, Jar Jar)

"Ewan McGregor has been lined up to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in JJ Abrams's Star Wars Episode VII, according to a new report. The claim follows suggestions earlier this week that Ian McDiarmid will return to the franchise as Senator Palpatine in "Sith Ghost" form. According to Latino Review, sources have confirmed that McGregor will appear as a Force Ghost in the Disney feature, which is scheduled for a 2015 release. Obi-Wan's ghost featured in the original Star Wars trilogy and was played by the late Alec Guinness. It has been suggested that Abrams may use CGI to place McGregor into past footage featuring Guinness, mirroring the way Hayden Christensen was included in Return of the Jedi. Latino Review also claims that the 42-year-old would like to star in a standalone Obi-Wan Kenobi film, after Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed last year that a number of character features will be shot between the final films of the franchise." Force ghosts everywhere

mirroring the way Hayden Christensen was included in Return of the Jedi. Which was, in my opinion, the worst decision of a series of bad decisions.
