My mate down here in Melbourne runs a British Indie night thingy each month and it's always a good laugh. He's asked me to DJ for a couple of hours so he can have a few beers and a break during the night
I'm not worried about actually DJing but just thinking about essential tunes to play. Don't just want to play Pills, Thrills, Shed 7 and some Roses all night.
So where better than to ask you lot (except you Eddie), lets hear what you would play.....

It's Friday abs. But the Roses tribute night is the same venue on the 7th March
I like it Sam, had a good few of them in the mix already. Except Guns n Roses, it's a British indie night

Be careful not to play the same things as your friends. Britpop or British indie ? The Pastels, The Smiths, The Bodines, Spearmint, The Wolhounds, The Field Mice... Is it a bar or a club . Do you have to make people dance ? Anyway look at our playlists, there's quite a lotof british indie there: www.facebook.com/pages/Another-Sunny-Night/114832601870964?sk=notes

One thing I've noticed about Aussie music fans is they're a lot less interested in older music than British fans, maybe because they don't have the same proud line of great bands coming out of their country like we do. Couple of my friends are into all the latest newer stuff but aside from only getting into The Smiths relatively recently and Nirvana hardly listen to anything pre 1995ish...have found this with their friends too.
Having said that Iain's audience is gonna have a hell of a lot of Brits so is gonna be less of an issue.

Definitely Reef, all night long.
Indie music is shit, just play the wu-tang all night and offer to fight anybody who has a problem.

They are going to be massive blokes with beer bellies and huge drinking habits who like a fight and a casual bit of racism. I recommend Be Here Now.

The Lightning Seeds - 3 Lions, will create a bashful atmosphere.
Also you can have Guns & Roses as Slash was born in Hampstead and his mum from Stoke.
