Both the booklet and handwritter lyrics are wrong for later later verse though.
Surely it should be "Girl in the Q got her eye on you".
Other verses in an earlier longer version referred to a fella who's a "melody maker" (another Noel reference?), a NY soul singer who's described as "double X L", and being "drowned in sound".
We can assume.

I think the intro to this song is my favorite thing in a while. It really is something.

Best song Liam's done this century. Can't understand the amount of flack it gets on here. It's pretty much flawless.

Because the "tickle my feet" bit is colossally clunky, and the "word is up" bit is really annoying. It's one of the worst tracks on the album, surpassed by at least two of the bonus tracks, and a terrible choice for a single.

Evil Eye is better. Off at the next exit is better. Back after the break is better.
The only worse song on the album is Soul Love, and even then only by a smidge.

The "word is up" bit (thought it was "world is up", huh) is the best part*! Dat brass! It's full of energy. I haven't heard the album yet but I doubt anything is better than that song. *actually the "come on" bit is the best part

The "Come On" bit is definitely the best bit... Although its reminds me of Sweet Child Of Mine, its got the same chord progression or something

It has a structure and it's dynamic, as it starts as a slow piece with a mambo/tropicalia vibe, then it explodes into a singalong chorus and then is lifted up again by an even bigger coda. If you listen, at 0.55 the song gains speed and it literally takes off with the chorus. The brass section really really makes the chorus special and colourful, even if it is trite and obvious in theory. It's an excellent choice for a single because it is both unconventional and familiar, it grabs you instantly and you don't have to listen to it 1000 times to sort it out.

Definitely a marmite song this. Personally? Can't stand it , I weep inside every time I hear Liam singing about having his feet tickled with the nme.
