AnyONE watch the reveal?

Got to say, I'm pretty disappointed.

Think I'll be getting a PlayStation 4.

Apparantely, Sony stocks are up 9% and rising since this started while Microsoft ones are down by 0.14% and dropping.

Rolli, can you confirm this?

"Xbox One will require users to pay a fee to play second-hand games on the console, Microsoft has confirmed.

Speaking with Wired, a Microsoft representative said that all Xbox One games will be installed to the system's hard drive to be played without the disc inside the system.

The game disc is then registered to a user's Xbox Live account, tying that copy of the game to a single user.

Microsoft added that a second user could still install the game from a second-hand disc, but there would be an activation fee to install and register the game to an additional Xbox Live account.

Microsoft also confirmed to The Verge that Xbox One will not be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games."

Bet that's gone down well. Looks good though.

With this preowned game charge - if they charged a quid or whatever I doubt it'd raise too many eyebrows, and it might even have advantages - DLC that comes with the game might be able to be used again or whatever.

Still, what a piece of shit this looks like.

"Microsoft has announced pricing and a release date for its next-generation Xbox One console.

The company confirmed during its E3 press conference that the system will debut in November, priced at £429 in the UK and $499 in the US."

Will give that a miss tbh.

Same price the PS3 was on release though wasn't it?

These things always drop as soon as that first Christmas is out of the way.

I'm not sure what to do with the next gen of consoles. I like my 360 at the moment but am a bit tempted back to the Playstation ways if not just for a change more than anything and to be able to play a different set of mates at Fifa. Thing is, I get the impression XBOX will still do a lot of the home entertainment side of things better and I use my console for a lot of that too - ie SkyGo, Netflix etc.

I read that the PS4 is only going to be 250 quid. Plus if the last gen's were enough to go on it'll be much better as an entertainment system.

Now my PS3 is broke I'm just going to hold out for the PS4, if it is under 300 quid then I'll get it on release. Nowadays I am stuck playing World Championship Snooker 2007 on the PS2 :(

I've always been of the opinion early adopters get taken for mugs.

Hold back and judge once the price falls. Developers start to get a handle on the thing and everyone will have a decent idea which is the better of the two.

Either way - I'm going to pick the same as Karl so I can SLAY him on FIFA

playstation have hit gold three times, even if the Xbox ends up winning the war I can't imagine the PS4 not having at least a 5 year lifespan. It isn't like when I bought my mega CD :(

Haven't looked forward to a console since the PS2, have got an XBOX360 that i barely use. Actually looking forward to the PS4 though, might have to get one.

They've really shot themselves in the foot with some of these restrictions. What happens when they bring the next Xbox out or it completely fails? All your games will become completely useless as you won't be able to play them any longer. I know most people just move on & get the next gen but there is a huge market for retro gaming and many people still like to play their old games on a regular basis.

Can someone explain the whole "no gaming if offline for 24 hours" thing?

Don't really get that myself, it apparently has to be always online and is checked every 24 hours for online authentication, based on the bits i've read i'm guessing if you miss two authentications your system doesn't let you play on it until it's back online or you have to call the helpdesk and explain to them why you're not online. Sounds like a massively pointless exercise to me.
