A message from Beady Eye August 18, 2013
A big thank you to everybody who’s been in touch to give messages of support for Gem following his accident. He and his family really appreciate it and so do the band. We are gutted about all the cancelled shows but thank you for understanding that we need to prioritise our mate and his recovery. The good news is Gem is doing well so far and is expected to make a full recovery over the next few weeks. This is just to say thanks for your patience, and for all the messages that have come in from all over the world. We are buzzing about getting back on stage for the UK and Ireland dates in November. Thanks, Beady Eye.

Beady Eye's Gem Archer breaks leg while recovering at home Guitarist previously fractured his skull
Beady Eye guitarist Gem Archer Gem Archer is reported to have broken his leg whilst at home recovering from his recent skull fracture. Earlier this month, the band reported that Archer was making a 'full recovery' in time for the band's upcoming UK and Ireland tour in November after it was previously feared that the guitarist was unlikely to perform with the band for the remainder of the year after suffering a serious head trauma in August - forcing the band to cancel their appearance at V Festival. But now, a source has told The Sun newspaper that Archer has had a metal pin inserted into one of his legs nd will spend four months in a plaster cast after a recent accident in the bathroom at home, where his leg snapped in two places. "Gem's on a bad run of luck right now," said the source. "First the fall down the stairs and now this. He can't even explain how it happened, it was just a freak accident. His leg gave way under him and just went. 'He's got a double fracture to the tibia and fibula, the two long bones in the lower leg.''
Earlier this month, in an email to their fans, Liam Gallagher and co have said that the guitarist is on the mend and will be hitting the road with them soon. "A big thank you to everybody who's been in touch to give messages of support for Gem following his accident," said the band. "He and his family really appreciate it and so do the band. "We are gutted about all the cancelled shows but thank you for understanding that we need to prioritise our mate and his recovery. The good news is Gem is doing well so far and is expected to make a full recovery over the next few weeks." They added: "This is just to say thanks for your patience, and for all the messages that have come in from all over the world. We are buzzing about getting back on stage for the UK and Ireland dates in November."
The band are yet to respond on whether Archer's latest injury will effect his appearance at upcoming shows.

" Due to guitarist Gem Archer's injury, the band regret to inform fans that they will be cancelling their upcoming shows in Belgium and Japan until further notice. They are very sorry for any disappointment this will cause but as Gem is an integral part of the band there is no way that they can play without him. An update on Gem's condition will follow" Andy Bell @andybebop Wanna wish my brother @gemarcherbe a speedy recovery X I wish he died.
