Noel looks pretty good I reckon, nice and healthy. You consider looking like a middle-aged junkie 'healthy'? The single is utter garbage, every one of the BDI singles owns it. And we all know they released some shite. Seriously, compare this dross with something like Flick of the Finger. certainly looks a lot better than any of the middle aged junkies i've come across, if so! actually got round to listening to the song, it's complete shit. such plodding soporific bollocks.

it'd be great if noel used some of that power in introducing dynamism or a gear above second for his solo ventures. it's wank.

I listened again & that song is embarrassingly shit. Noel needs to grow a pair & start taking a few chances. He's considered it a couple of times working with Death in Vegas & Amorphous Androgynous only to bottle out of it in favour of mediocrity. These days I just see him as a rock dinosaur who pops up on television chat shows & puts out distinctively safe music, sure he can come up with a decent melody but there's literally no other merits worth mentioning in his song-writing anymore. I'm not saying he should completely changed his sound but FUCKING HELL, he could at least try to experiment a little, Weller has managed it with his last 3 records, taking chances whilst still treading carefully & its paid off well for him. You just know EXACTLY what this album will sound like before we've even heard it.
I'm sure the Jake Bugg/Kasabian crowd will lap it up but this is the type of music that I've very little interest in anymore.

I don't even know who Jake Bugg is or what Kasabian sounds like nowadays. Maybe that is why I like it?

I guess these songs pay bills and he doesn't need to work hard to create them, whereas with those other guys producing he would lose creative control and would have work a little harder, probably selling less records too. So yeah, money and laziness. His debut has some tunes though.

to get the hype going, here are a few other things that have happened in the time it's taken solve my mystery to go from demo to release:
the launch of every single ipod, iphone and ipad.
all 8 harry potter films.
the war in iraq.
every kanye west album.
stephen king has written 17 books.
feel free to add more...

I like where this is going. If Rickie Lambert can go from a bloke bottling beetroot to playing in a World Cup in the about the same timeframe, this could be one of the greatest songs ever written. To even suggest that it'll sound exactly the same is highly implausible.

Thought the new Kasabian was class. Sounded like the Twang with beats, what more do you want.
