Finished then? Glad I didn't (try) and fork out silly money as seemed a short set and expected Listen Up, Rockin' Chair etc from previous interviews.
On to tomorrow night. Has the album actually been confirmed as October apart from one article? It's half a year off, can't be right.

So it wasn't acapella, just acoustic: He sounds pretty good, doesn't he?

I like the Dr Who bit in Wall of Glass.
"You been strolling one direction, I've been leading resurrections"
The song seems about Noel being a cunt and Liam being Jesus. Apt.

I've listened to the new songs a few times this morning...
Greedy Soul Thought this sounded gash while I was watching the live stream but I think it has a lot of promise actually. I think it'll be the heaviest song on the album, and on record, it's probably going to sound pretty mega. Again, the vocals here were a bit off, especially the higher notes, but that ain't gonna be an issue on record.
Wall of Glass Great choice for a first single. Vocals were much better here, maybe because he's just sung it more? It's got a real swagger to it. The guitar as he's singing "Wall of Glass" sounds sweet, and the guitar bit after it where it goes a bit weird is interesting and caught me off guard.
Bold Reminds me a bit of Start A New. His vocal from the gig doesn't sound perfect, a bit off in places. Musically, it's pretty minimal but there shimmering guitars on it could sound pretty nice on the record, especially with some good production. There's a bit towards the end where he's singing "blame it on me, blame it on me" where the crowd started clapping along so this could end up being a strong live favourite.
Paper Crown In the videos I've seen, the music is sometimes a bit hard to hear properly, but from what I can here, it sounds really nice. The drum fills sound particularly good to my ears, and it already sounds a lot better than the slower Beady Eye numbers (Off At The Next Exit excluded 'cos I fucking love that tune) The vocals were also spot on.
It Doesn't Have To Be That Way Musically, in the verses, it reminds me a bit of an Oasis song but I can't quite put me finger on which. I'm thinking it's something after The Masterplan? Anyway, yeah, sounds good.
You Better Run, You Better Hide I initially thought this sounded really good but I'm not so sure now. Sure, it's rocking and seems to be a bit of a stomper but I can't decide if it's just a bit plodding?
Universal Gleam Another fairly slow and chilled out one. Seems to have a slight southern-country vibe to it. It doesn't blow me away but it doesn't bore me to tears either. It'll probably be considered filler in the context of the album but I've accepted the fact there's gonna be some filler moments on this record.
Overall, I'm remaining hopefully optimistic that'll be better than anything Beady Eye put out. Musically, the band sound really fucking tight so that's good. Also, from the stuff we've heard, I didn't notice any lyrics which stuck out like a pig in a sheep farm, which was one of my major nuances with Beady Eye; some of their lyrics were just really bloody clunky.

I haven't listened to any of the new songs but did play the Wall Of Glass clip, sounding promising. A few seconds reminded me of Waiting For The Rapture, at least the riff. Like that tune a lot even though I preferred the alt version. Oh and DOYS is a quality album really and at least they left on a high note after the 2 tedious records before it.
If Liam can get anywhere near this with his own album (i.e. a solid 7/8 outta 10) then I think we'll all be happy. I'd still prefer him to do a Death In Vegas style record but maybe in future as despite all the bravado he'll still need to build up the confidence to kick on if he's heading solo from here on in.

I only heard Wall of Sound and it sounded pretty good.
Does anybody know who's playing in Liam's band? Video was a bit wonky so I couldn't pick out anybody.

I think it's Jay Mehler & Drew McConnell. Not sure who the drummer is.

Liam had a pair of macarenas during Be Here Now That and walking on to Fucking In The Bushes are some real big moves. Gonna be great on Thursday.

Heard clips from the new'uns and none sounded specially promising. But none of them seemed annoyingly shit neither and I'm quite confident on the overall production. Also don't have a strong opinion of his voice, not very different than 5, 10 or 15 years ago.

Wall of Glass 😎
Like a better produced BDI number. Great vocal. Love the backing vox. Solid.
