They don't have to be bad records, just ones that you expected a lot more from.
For me:
Camera Obscura - Desire Lines Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Specter at the Feast Eels - The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett The Horrors - Luminous Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Belong Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Mosquito Weller - Saturns Pattern Foxygen - ...And Star Power Strokes - Comedown Macine Tyler The Creator - Goblin

foxygen and star power for sure. ive grown to really enjoy belong. sure they'll never match the debut but i don't think i ever really expected them to tbh.
i'd also throw in the last two sbtrkt albums after i fucking loved the self titled from 2011. the more recent action bronson releases disappointed too after such a strong start.

Comedown machine is fantastic. And Sacrilege on its own makes Mosquito worthwhile.
Eels, BRMC, Foxygen, Horrors, Rifles, yep. I'd pick the Virginmarys too, that was a painful moment.

Good call on the rifles, I forgot that freedom run was that recent, what a disaster.

Srsly though, I rate that Strokes LP almost on a par with their first two, and I still reckon the last Horrors record has its moments. Would it be fair to lump Dwayne's albums in here, given his work with Oasis, or are they just SHIT?

Comedown Machine might be the Strokes related record I listen the most these days, has a turd or two but the rest I can't get enough of. That one from The Horrors does not seem bad at all and has its moments too, but never feel like listening to it. And the truth is it ended a fantastic run of reinvention for them.
I've said a few times Deerhunter's Fading Frontier was a big letdown after Monomania for me. Black Lips last one was a bit weak, but hardly surprising after Arabia Mountain being amazing. MGMT selftitled was bad. And someone should mention Currents by Tame Impala, but I won't be the one.

Comedown Machine is a great record. WTF are you talking about Mahoney?
Desire Lines is awful, I'll grant you.

Specter at the Feast sounds like U2 and it drags a bit, but it's not that bad?

Very existential, Barny. Mahoney, I misread.
The new Wild Nothing then. Previous album is a 10/10 all neet for me; new album I find to be eighties wank. What is this modern obession with mainstream eighties sounds?
