This is what both should have been doing all along. EA Sports take the piss virtually every year when they release last year's game with this year's kits and squads. Konami have given up with the edit mode because everyone downloads patches now so the kit templates haven't changed since PES6 I think.
Scandalous that they charge £60+ (over £100 for FIFA versions) for an updated version of last year's game. And I'm not even going into all the ultimate team bullshit.
I bought Pro Evo a couple of years ago and I wasn't impressed with it at all. I find FIFA the superior game and once you toggle with some of the attributes in the settings it makes it even better.
My XboxOne broke recently I dunno if I should get a new one or if I should wait for the next generation of consoles. I only play FIFA on it though..

I am like you with PS4, I literally have it for FIFA and nothing else.
We aren't releasing a demo for FIFA 21. Instead we've made the decision to focus our development team's time on delivering the best full game experience for current & next-gen consoles. We look forward to EA PLAY members jumping in 10 days from now and launching the game Oct 9.
