Was thinking about this listening to the new Black Lips record, which is quite shit tbh. The previous lineup wasn't the original, but they got famous and released their best records during the 10 years or so they were together. Now there are bands like Gorillaz where it doesn't matter at all, and also the likes of Oasis and Jesus & Mary Chain, who let you have affection for some member-pet, but it's all up to the brothers. Even The Rolling Stones had big changes and kept on working. So not that many innit?
Blur The Strokes The Libertines The Stone Roses

When I first saw Blur in 2003 Coxon wasn't in the line up. Didn't affect my enjoyment of the gig one bit. They played Sing, ffs, what a moment that was.
And I'm sure if I'd been old enough to see the Roses on their seminal UK tour in '95 I wouldn't have been arsed about Robbie Maddix bringing the power instead of Reni.

I always thought that rod held back the wynd. My opinions on this have changed a lot over the years. I actually think it's more of a negative to work with the same 3 or 4 people for an entire career. Obviously when u go see a famous band that you love you want to see the lineup that you remember, but to grow as artists it's probably not wise to constantly work with the same group of people. I like bands that have evolved and changed throughout the years, the bad seeds are a good example of this. Off topic but, the stone roses played last night and nobody cares from heroes to zeroes in 5 years. Maybe time to kick reni out and bring in some saxophones.

I was gonna say the Hives, but I think Dr. Matt Destruction left or had a nervous breakdown or something and they carried on.
Does raise the question in my mind if oasis ever does get back together, who's in the band? I reckon Bonehead will be involved somehow, and Bell is probably permanently back in ride, and Guigs is probably permanently back in the ether somewhere so...3 guitar players, a random playing bass and a drum machine?
Blurgh. Noel 'n liam acoustic tour!

I always thought that rod held back the wynd. Since he moved to TCOTU, I've thought about reforming the group with a totally different line-up. Play a few shows and see how long it takes him to notice.

Rod's text to you when he finds out...
"This has got to be a wynd up, right?!?"

You Am I with Davey is definitive, no other changes could be allowed if they sacked rusty off drums or got in a new guitarist UNACCEPTABLE. Blur without Coxon for me, wasn't blur. and on a sorta related note can the scream get mani back now if the roses are over?

Jesus, is that what Rush look like? I kinda expected it, though the one in the middle is gonna give me nightmares. It's like a Satan version of Bono.

I'd be more worried about the guy on the right, given he's dead.
