I still listen to a lot of his earlier solo stuff, and I have long wanted more of it - but so far I am not really impressed by what we've heard from this new one...

The next episode of the podcast is the gang tackling 2004's Lifeblood - this week's bonus episode is a chat with its producer which was a very worthwhile discussion. What a weird, bold album - cold and clinical; much more synth sounds than guitar. It's certainly patchy (and wild that "The love of Richard Nixon" was not only a single, but reached #2), but "Solitude sometimes is" and "Empty Souls" are A+ tracks.
