I still love you really, Karl (Karl Kennedy's wife, backing vox, live @ the Gabba circa 2008) I reckon The Stands debut is better than The Coral's. I've seen the latter a few times but they've never done much for me minus a few big tunes. My list would be a 100m sprint but I'd arguably have It's A Wonderful Life by Sparklehorse at no.1. Fucking yes, Mark Linkous was/is a godsend. Sunshine from Good Morning Spider is currently my favourite song by anyone. outrageous comment. as I said listened to the stands the other day, some lovely stuff on there....i remember going straight to buy it after hearing "when this river" on the radio (yeah went to hmv and paid money for a record wow crazy teemz) BUT.... the coral debut is magnificent, genuinly not a "bad" song on there and most of its pretty awesome. blew my mind when I first heard it....i - at the point - had only really been into oasis-y type stuff, "straight" music is the best way I think I'd describe it....and it got me listening / curious about a lot of different things (beefheart, love, pink Floyd, the stairs, even the Supremes via "my heart is empty without you" amongst others)

I don't use RYM so this will be a bit of a slog, but i can't resist a list, so will get one done soon.

Blinking lights is not a compilation btw (If what you meant?) Wtf After all these years yet I'm sure I read it was a b-sides and rarities collection You're right, I've been conned. Maybe I dreamt it. I actually had a power nap yesterday and dreamt I was inside Eva Braun's house and Hitler turned up all angry. Needless to say I woke up in a frenzy while still in a coma. I was only asleep for an hour, a complete headfuck. So yes, I probably dreamt it. Never doubt the Karl.

Perhaps you got it confused with the Useless Trinkets compilation which came out a couple of years after Blinking Lights.

RYM order functions seem to broken, I can't even start with this until they sort it out.

You sure Barns? I've not had any problems. If in the search box of your collection you choose release year and type 2000s they'll all pop up, then you can list them by rating or year.

It didn't work when I wrote that but it's working now like it used to.
I'll just order/pick from my current RYM ratings and probably miss a few because of that but a pretty representative list I will get. I'm thinking it was a pretty bad decade for bands or artists from previous decades, much like the eighties, wasn't it? Except maybe a few who had their peak on the mid-to-late 90s and didn't really follow any trend (SFA, Nick Cave, Eels, Beck, PJ).
I still have to decide which Oasis album to include tbh.

Also, we should count more than 40, it's a decade long list ffs

I still have to decide which Oasis album to include tbh. Surely this is straightforward?! 00s had some great music although 90s still rules even though britpop hasn't stood the test of time much overall, imo. Without doubt the best two eras. Even 60s doesn't do much for me minus Dylan and Nico.

The one I won't pick for sure is your number 1. It might do a top100 though.
