Not sure if anyone was aware of this (I don’t think so), but unfortunately, longtime forum member Ben passed away in Florida in December.

I only knew him on here and more recently, on twitter. We had interacted quite a bit on twitter going back 5-6 years and then he seemed to go silent just around this past Christmas. I reached out to a mutual friend a few months back to see if she knew anything but she wasn’t able to find anything out either. She just DM’d me a few minutes, saying he passed away in December “from a fall”. She had no other details, unfortunately.

😢

he ran one of the incarnations didn't he? sad if true, I don't think he was very old? maybe he fell off a ladder in true soapbox style.

Terrible news. He can't have been that old, maybe early 40s? Was a passionate fan of Oasis and remarkably tolerant of the Brit maniacs that posted on Oasisforum back in the day, I never recall him having a breakdown like so many others.

Sad news and makes you wonder the whereabouts of other ex-forumers. As the years roll by it's sadly inevitable things like this will happen with illness as well, yet we may never find out. RIP.

You genuinely wouldn't know if I perished. I can't be arsed with social media for a start so it's not as though I'd suddenly stop posting updates on my choice of socks. Thanks for the memories lads and see you in the next life.

I'm likely to fall down a hillside under the influence of alcohol. Came close Friday night in fact In all serious I'm more likely to slip and twat my head on a rock and be found by hikers the next morning half conscious with a warm beer - touch and go from then on.

I love living like a tramp in the countryside. Why don't more homeless people head there? Serious question. I know you can't beg but it'd be chilled as owt and you only need a tent and a sleeping bag.

That's awful! How many forum member did we lose? 3? That's a lot...

I could have died in December. I was super drunk at 3am, on my way to a club. I saw a taxi and crossed the street. I slipped and banged my head on the pavement. I lost half of a tooth + injured cheek and knees.
I don't recall a thing. I was with a friend and he says I still wanted to go to the club even though I was bleeding.

Trooper.

Reminds me of when I was 15 and I slipped on the soap in the bath and fell and crashed my head on the side. I was knocked out for a while and woke up later with my head just above water level. No idea how long I'd been out for. There was blood everywhere and the water was red (as apparently this is the colour of blood).

Anyway I remember this fondly as it was the day Wigan played Man City at home in the play off semi final first leg at Springfield Park. I was determined to go to the game so refused to go to hospital for stitches over my right eye. I couldn't see much of the match outta my right eye as I had a big self-made patch over it

I still have the scar to this day. I think I even sneaked into the match for free as I can't remember how I'd have gotten a ticket. It was so easy back then. I just checked and this was 15 May 1999  >:( P-)

Sir Soul, FoxyOasis & Ben. Unless I'm missing someone? Still fucking sad to think of that a community which isn't exactly large has lost 3 lives so early.

JamesForumAdmin's death by way of tractor accident is sketchy at best.
