Andy Bell Glok record is alright. Sounds like he's bought himself a synth and had some fun with it. Nothing special, yet I found it quite inspiring as I've lately been down the rabbit-hole on youtube looking at synths & sequencers and want to do something similar.
But anyway, one of my favourite people of all time covering one of my favourite songs of all time. Incredible

It’s been out a couple of weeks now but that new Kano album is a BANGER. Is Teardrops a contender for single of the year? It’s not for me to say, but yes!

Not sure if any of these have been mentioned so far.
Really enjoying the Raconteurs album. Nothing groundbreaking- just good songwriting and great delivery. I think Jack White and Brendan Benson compliment eachother so well.
Also think the new Belle & Sebastian album. Feels like classic B&S. (edit: just found out it's a soundtrack)
And the Leisure Society album is sublime. I thought Sleeper was an underappreciated gem, but this new one is just as good.

Too by numbers that Raconteurs record, decent but I believe the Raconteurs debut is vastly underrated, the closer they get to the Beatles the better tbh.
That said, checkout their Amazon cover of I'm Your Puppet.

New Nick Cave & Angel Olsen today. Woke up at 5:00am to listen to the Nick Cave album, I managed to get through the first 6 tracks, it didnt grab me on first listen, my first thoughts were "I've heard all of this before on the last 2 albums" - hope I end up enjoying this. Listened to the first track of Olsen's new album yesterday, it was a banger of a tune, I really enjoyed her last one. Looking forward to this one later. |

Well on first couple of listens through, the Nick Cave, Angel Olsen and Wilco records are all excellent. The Nick Cave album, if listened to in one go with no distractions is something else.

yeah the Nick Cave I think I'm going to have to assign myself time to listen to properly, doesn't seem like something that's going to benefit from being heard on my Iphone whilst out at work. Long records like Kamasi Washington I've always taken my time with & found the right moments to have a full experience with.
