i'll happily do the top 5 albums from scottish bands that aren't primal scream or belle and sebastian list. a disproportionate amount of my favourite bands seem to be from scotland. right now id got... arab strap - philophobia jesus and mary chain - psychocandy orange juice - you can't hide your love forever the twilight sad - fourteen autumns and fifteen winters josef k - the only fun in town The Delgados- The Great Eastern The Delgados- Hate I have recently discoverer the Delgados. These two albums are as good as anything i've heard come out of Scotland. I'm here to be shot at. Universal Audio is better than either of those albums. The Delgados were incredible. They’re doing reunion shows next year

Top 5 Stone Roses tracks from the much ridiculed Second Coming:
1) Breaking Into Heaven 1) Ten Storey Love Song 3) How Do You Sleep? 4) Tears 5) Love Spreads
I hadn't played this album for 15 years but it really is fucking GREAT. Just not as great as the debut, obviously. Love Spreads is seemingly hailed as the classic from this but I'm saying the songs I mentioned are better. I had to leave off Driving South and the super sweet Your Star Will Shine which felt bad, but probably right. Daybreak and Straight To The Man are a bit similar and always feel I'm waiting for the next track with these, but fook it, there's no awful track and Tightrope is slightly cheesy but listenable.
If I get to heaven and the gates are locked, I'm gonna smash open the padlock and break in, given I've come all this way. I only just hear this, and I love the swaggerness in the message. YEAH.

Just noticed I accidentally put two no.1s haha, but you know, Ten Storey Love Song is majestic and brings me to tears. Or should that be Tears. So it's staying as joint best tune.

How Do You Sleep got a question mark when it doesn't have even one. For that I feel bad. AS I FUCKING ADORE THIS TUNE. HOPE YOU CAN TELL I'VE HAD A FEW DRINKS.

If you were down the discotheque having a shandy the intro would be tedious, but in the context of being the opening track after a five year hiatus then I love the build up of it.
The melody of the 'How many times will I have to tell you' line is so good, the only awful thing being they only used it once in the tune!
Cwlass, as Andy Gray would say, on Bein sports

I've shown no interest in him now for 39 years, but now he's dead I've decided I wish to hear him!

I’m partial to “the way I feel” for the early folkie stuff, “summertime dream” for his 70s peak and “waiting for you for his late years. But start with “gord’s gold”. Just about a perfect ‘best of’

From Gord or a cover? There’s a famous disco version and there was a dance one from the late 90s (stars on 54) that I recall being on the radio a lot. And Johnny cash did it on one of the American albums.
