Come on that track is pure comedy. About half way through, it's pretty much what I think of every other Kasabian record, decent nothing more nothing less. Got to admire their conviction, you just know they think they've created some psychedelic monster of a record that blows peoples minds when really it's so safe with a complete lack of edge. They can write a good tune & often have good ideas but it always ends up feeling watered down. Would love them to work with someone like Kevin Shields or anybody with a bit of bottle but I guess when you've got arena's to fill people don't want anything too risky. Re-Wired & the title track are pretty good though I agree they have never captured on record that something they have(had?) on live shows, but I love the debut and still found reasons to enjoy the other two. This one (on first listen) sounded completely terrible, no life, no hooks, not even one standout track, just them with the automatic pilot and yeah, thinking they have made another psychedelic masterpiece.

I don't agree theres no hooks, songwriting is probably just as good as their other records.
Anyway, to sum it up. If they do a festival I'll watch them, otherwise I'm not arsed.

kasabian are such a frustrating band. they have lots of neat ideas and their songwriting isn't too bad either but then they have huge problems with production and structures and almost all their songs sound really watered down
that re-wired song is a good example. i like the melody and they have some cool synths there but overall it's not even near loud enough. sounds pleasant enough but that's it.
basically what mahoney said, but wanted to say it again anyways

Has the S.C.U.M album leaked yet? I'm looking forward to that. Still not heard anything they've recorded but they were the bollocks live. Like the Horrors meet Ride. BRUVAmber Hands is a monster of a tune. It's been a big part of my running playlist for weeks. Youtube it. Their new tune is less big though. It's sort of alright.

Not digging this record at all though I'm sure you will like it JP, it has THAT SOUND which you dig & i unfortunately always end up hating. I enjoyed them live but the record is another of those lowfi, indiepop plodding records with girlie vocals that just bore me.
